I think, the actual prohibition is for "khamar", anything which intoxicates. Be it wine, beer or drugs. So marijuana falls under this definition.

The exception is medicines to numb the pain (like pain-killers or sedatives) when used for health reasons, and not for enjoyment.

marijuana, wine, beer, whiskey is all halal coz it don’t impair my judgement..

Haraam = Forbidden (Strictly)
Khamar = Intoxicant (Especially one that overrides senses)
Halal = Allowed and preferred
