I hate it when people do that!!! I hate people who litter unnecessarily!!!
I was once walking along a busy London road. A car was stationary at the traffic lights. Plebeian flicks a cigarette butt out of his window and it lands near my feet, only just missing my expensive shoes. I abhor people who litter. I picked it up and flicked it back into his car and walked off. He didn’t react; i think he recognised that the size of my feet would crush his puny Lilliputian sized body.
I hate when people smoke in the car. When I was 7 years old, I was in the back seat on the driver's side as my uncle drove me to a friend's house. He started smoking, so I lowered the window and stuck my head out to get some fresh air. At that very moment he extended his arm outside and flickered to get rid of the burnt ash... as the tiny particles dispersed in the air, 90% of them went straight into my sparkling eyes... it was horrible.... oh the pain and agony... I still remember the incident to this day and hate all smokers.
I am not going to talk about the moral/ethical/health/social consequences of smoking, I am just going to keep my focus on Muzna's main question. Is smoking while driving, a distraction?
Smoking cigarette in the car is as much of a distraction as changing radio station or ejecting a CD out of the CD player and put a new one in.
In other words, its not a distraction for the driver, it maybe a nuisance for the passengers or passerby but not a distraction.
I shouldn't be saying this---because I have smoked for 40 years till that 2nd August-2008 day when---from three packs a day---I simply threw the half filled Benson Hedges from my car. Later I thought of something---went straight to a convenience store and purchased THREE packs of BENSON HEDGES. Opened all the three---took half the cigarettes partially out. Kept one pack at my bedside---one in my almirah where i keep my wallet/watch etc---one in toilet where I shave daily and everytime I took a closer look at the packet did conversed with it saying " ALRIGHT YOU SO & SO....MAKE ME SMOKE YOU ----- YOU *[EMAIL="&%#@%&$"]&%#@%&$ " and with a certain feeling of content---I walk away. The packs are still there and I haven't touched it since 2nd Aug-2008.***
Speaking of TEXTING while driving-----how can I ever forget my first cousin's son FOUZAN (grandson of Maulana Kausar Niazi) loosing his life in Islamabad---when at 12 midnight on way to F/7-3 to pick up his cousin--he tried texting his cousin to come out that he is almost there! What happened after that was that his car was found in a huge naala off F-7/2 and him dead :( FOUZAN RASHEED was just 16 of age!
