Smokers, pay up!

Re: Smokers, pay up!

that is good, it will at least get one democrat to pay more...Mr. Lush himself Ted Kennedy.

Re: Smokers, pay up!

employer sponsored policies perhaps don’t require any testing.

Re: Smokers, pay up!

I repeat, any reputable inusrance agency will require at least a blood test.

Re: Smokers, pay up!

Kaleem do you really smoke? If so I hope you don't smoke in the house or in front of the kids.

Re: Smokers, pay up!

UTD, I dont smoke in the house or infront of the kiddos.

Re: Smokers, pay up!

I have never seen any employer sponsored insurance company requiring blood test for life insurance and big companies don’t provide life insurance from cheap places.

Re: Smokers, pay up!

Cpatian ji, try getting the insurance for 5 times your pay or the maximum...then come and tell me if they did not ask you to come in and do the blood test...plus most emplyers now require drug/alcohol tests...they do take blood for those tests ...dont they...what makes you think that they dont share that information with the insurance provider?

Re: Smokers, pay up!

BTW : I support smoking and may the non-smokers zippdy doo da their way to hell.

Re: Smokers, pay up!

Republican businessmen are as much as ‘illegal aliens lovers’ as dems are. Ever wonder why Bush hasn’t done anything to stop illegal immigration in lat 5 years of his presidency? Instead of praising the efforts of minutemen, who are trying to stop illegal immigrants, Bush called them vigilantes.

Re: Smokers, pay up!

^ Ok and your point is? I have already said in this thread that both parties will do the PC things because they want the votes, its upto people like minutemen and others to take controle of the borders or force the Govt. to solve the problem.

Re: Smokers, pay up!

Yes they do require drug screening, so do the premiums get bumped up after the test for smokers? I didn’t bump up the policy so didn’t have to go thru the step you mentioned, I don’t smoke so I don’t know.

Re: Smokers, pay up!

Oh I remember that thread ...* kisi nay meree bhi baRi bezti ki this us thread may*

Re: Smokers, pay up!

I hope I have been successful in diffusing the situation, it’s quite late and I am sleepy. May all of you live happily ever after.

and Yea! smoker power…May we smoke till our lungs pop.:smokin:
shub bakhair.

Re: Smokers, pay up!

LI and Kaleem: Hum tum, kissi kamray main band hon...

Oops, Wrong thread...:p

Re: Smokers, pay up!

Back to the topic, YES smokers should be charged more for the heath insurance. Because they are also driving up the cost of healthcare.

Re: Smokers, pay up!

i can't finish up calculating my insurrance premiums and stuff :D

Re: Smokers, pay up!

are you sure??
of course smokers get costly deseases from their smoking…but!:
what about those people who are so health conscious that they live so long so they drain the pensiun funds:D
and get so many diseases like alzheimer because they live very very long…
don’t you think people dying at young age are saving money to health/pension insurances because they do not devellop deseases typically from old age, they do not require long term pensions, and do not get disabled beccause of old age…

to sum this up, my point is there is diversity amongst people…in race, gender, genetic pool, living habits…these are the wealth of any nation and one should not be discriminated on the basis of his identity because there are good and bad aspects in anything!

Re: Smokers, pay up!

Some quick facts on Lung Cancer:

85% of Lung Cancer is attributable to smoking.

50% of those diagnosed will be diagnosed with either stage III or Stage IV disease, basically terminal in 10 to 14 months.

Lung Cancer kills more than Breast Cancer, Colon Cancer, Liver Cancer, Pancreatic Cancer, Lymphoma, Brain Cancer, Prostate Cancer and Skin Cancer combined.

In 30 years of researching Lung Cancer, science has not found a way to prolong life once you get it.

If you stop smoking your lungs never get back to normal. You will always have an increased risk of Cancer.

Just some thoughts for my stubborn friend Kaleem....

Re: Smokers, pay up!

just a few thoughts from the UK

Patients who smoke, drink too much or are obese could be denied medical help if their lifestyle is likely to undermine their treatment, the government's health treatment watchdog said yesterday.

A report published by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (Nice) said: "If the self-inflicted cause of the condition will influence the likely outcome of a particular treatment, then it may be appropriate to take this into account in some circumstances."

Re: Smokers, pay up!

^ that is exactly why socialist medicine style has/will fail. God help us if Hillary is elected and she gets to push her socialist agenda across the board.
