Smokers, pay up!

Re: Smokers, pay up!

parissenoor, it's not about not letting the smokers live. They are more than welcome to carry on their habits but like all choices in life, you have to take up the responsability for your actions.

Ms. Lazy, it's not as simple as just buying your food and cooking it. For example, at McDonalds you can get a chicken sandwich for a $1 while the salad is $3. Anyone strapped no cash will cut corners and will probably go for the $1 option and so we see that in poor & lower income neighborhoods obesity is a big problem. The same poor people work labour jobs where they are paid by the hour and often according to their calculations they might as well work an extra hour than the spend the same hour at home cooking.

But cash is just one part of the equation; it's also about awareness, what food groups the government subsidizes etc.
