I was wondering how do you guys keep clothes (washed) hung in closets or in drawers from smelling weird. What if keeping bedroom doors closed while cooking desi food doesn’t help. Plz share if you have any easy remedy for this.

Re: smell in clothes
Just have a good exhaust system in your kitchen and odor absorbers in closets and closed spaces.
Re: smell in clothes
Yeah keep some air freshners in the cupboard … I keep all my perfumes in the cupboard , my friends think i am hiding them there
.. actually i am not hiding them, but with time your clothes just smell better
…
if you feel your clothes are smelling due to the food being cooked in the kitchen , then the problem might be bigger , perhaps the smell is being absorbed by other things in the house as well .. so you need to start opening windows more …
Once a friend of mine used bakhoor or other incense things occasionally , coz it kills the bacteria around … and freshens the air … she lived in a small apartment and had this issue of smell getting absorbed , but regularly doing bakhoor helped her tonns …

what are you referring to odor absorbers??? plz give some names
do you mean keep a closed bottle of perfume in my drawer will keep the clothes from smelling bad?
Re: smell in clothes
yeah , you dont have to take the lid off .... just keep em there ... with time you will notice your clothes will start smelling nice ..
What I do is that , when my perfume finishes , i dont throw away the bottles , I keep them in the corners of the cupboard... i do the same with hubby's clothes with his after shaves ... and the clothes start smelling nice and fresh :@: ... but this is a slow process ..
Re: smell in clothes
Well, mashallah seh, our foods are so strong in odor that theres no way to rid of it completely...but ive heard that ta great way to keep the smell minimal is to have 1 or 2 strong scented candles burning WHILE you are cooking, they help in 'fighting' over the bad odor. Or you could always place a few sheets of fabric softeners in your drawers or cupboards. Or simply rub the fabric softeners onto whatever you need to freshen up.
Re: smell in clothes
I know exactly what you mean, if anyone is cooking, frying, or grilling anything, I run out the door to make sure my clothes and hair don't absorb the smell. I'm not sure if this is due to poor ventilation. We turn on the fans, exhaust, and open windows, but I still have to tuck my hair in my shirt, cover the top of my head with my hands, and run out the door. The neighbors think I am senile... :/
