smear tests

I’m a bit confused about these. I remember about a year ago my doctors surgery sent me a letter saying a was due for a smear test but when I spoke to my doctor she said I wouldn’t need it after all if I was not sexually active (although I am married now so will probably go for one soon)

However a couple of friends of mine say that whether or not you are sexually active you should still go for a regualar smear test.

So now I’m totally confused as to when you should have then. Hope someone can shed some light on this matter.

If some one can tell us males what is a smear test??

Its a screening test docs do to see/predict if women will develope cancer of the womb.

Which one of you is up for this test?
