I am pretty annoyed at my recent buy. Sephora has these small mini size products so I picked up an 8 color mini eyeshadow set from smash box. 4 shades are matte and 4 shades are shimmer. Barely any pigmentation and I don’t have primers. I wish I had them try the colors on me at the store before I bought the item.
I was expecting better and now I don’t know how to approach eyeshadow swatches. The smash box seemed to have good swatches but when j swatch them on my skin they don’t show up and the mattes are poorly defined and just appear like smudgy soot. I’m not sure how people are actually swatching online. I had to apply foundation to the lid then wet the lipstick to apply to even get it on.
I don’t see many great options for eyeshadows for desis that are affordable, highly pigmented for darker lids with little fallout.
Smash box shadows had massive fall out unless I wet the brush.
PCG - smashbox photoop eyeshadow formula is supposedly very nice and usually raved about. Which eyeshadow quad/pallette did you pick?

you have to wear eyeshadow primer under any shadow, cheap or expensive, name brand or not. otherwise, it just does not stay on. recently, I have actually been wearing two primers, because without wearing BOTH, you cant see any color of the eyshadow, even black looks icky without them.
the first one is Primer Potion by Urban Decay.

and then on top of that NYX eyeshadow base in White

so, the Primer Potion makes the stuff stay on your lids, and the NYX base makes any eyeshadow you put on top, actually show up on your eyes 
and yes, it may seem like double duty, but really? what’s an extra 10 seconds worth of a step to make your eyeshadows shwo their true color like they are meant to?
