Getting a non tech person into smart phone is not an easy thing. While it is about finding a good fit for them on usability level,it is also about how flexible it is for them to use the phone.
What is the best smartphone that you would suggest for people who are not good with technology e.g beginners?

Apple. It makes it very easy for a non-techie to get on the smart phone. Not only can they mess up the phone, every iPhone comes with a year warranty with apple care that could be extended. Also, iPhones have a tip center built in the phone where users can see tips on how to use the phone. Also, Apple doesnt allow folks to just post apps on the app store. It has to go through a lot of scrutiny through apple.

sometimes back, i heard on the news that Japan has come up with a very-easy-to-use phone for seniors. i don't remember the brand name. sorry!
