I was wondering if anyone can recommend a small business invoice software (pc repair shop)- easy to use , possibly open source software?

In any case, you are looking in the wrong direction.

What you need is an accounting software and not just an invoicing software. Invoices are always generated by an accounting software. For starters, you can try Sage First Step Express Version. Its free and a quality product designed by professionals. Ofcourse, there is Quickbooks and Microsoft Accounting offering free versions. All of these softwares track your income, revenue, sales and send out invoices.

My personal pick would be Microsoft Accounting. Hope that helps:cheegum:**

i c what u mean by accounting software , i couldn't find n e thing reasonable becuz i was looking 4 the wrong thing.

now with ms accounting - are u sure they offer a free version?

I know many softwares on the MAC side but I can’t seem to recall anything on the PC. In any case, I’m sure there are but I as I mentioned I’m more accustomed to using an accounting software. Now, I do know of an online service that allows you to send/generate invoices but I haven’t tried it out. Perhaps you may be interested. Its a toronto based company called, Fresh Books. They offer a free account which is limited to three active clients, maybe you can have multiple accounts. :cheegum:

For our business, I developed custom excel sheets. However, I have advanced excel knowledge and I know how to develop Macros and I know the basic principles of accounting.

I would strongly suggest that you pay the $200.00 to get Quickbooks. It is well worth it and you can put it as a business expense when you file for taxes.

You can also get a free version of quickbooks from their main website, and this may be more than enough of what you are looking for.

Hey guys thanks so much for all your help I just installed MS Accounting express 2009 and i'm really happy and it seems like its everything i was looking for and more....
i'm gona give quickbooks a chance and im' sure it covers some of the same stuff.
