Re: small black Khanna recipe

your title is black khanna recipe.....:D

How can I add black khanna recipe needed to title. I realized that mistake after I added thread .

Re: small black Khanna recipe

Bajiascooking on youtube has a great recipe for it. I have tried it many times and never failed with it, which is a huge achievement for me.

Please remember to soak your channe overnight, with baking soda.. they'll be softer. First time i didn't do this, and even after many attempts in the pressure cooker they didn't go soft, and had to throw that batch out.

Is adding baking soda healthy? We are trying to incorporate in our diet to lose weight. Of course I want it to taste great too.

Re: small black Khanna recipe

^ don't know about it's healthiness, or how it will help you to lose weight. After soaking the channe, you wash it out anyway

Re: small black Khanna recipe

That is strange. I made black chaanas couple weeks back, did not soak them with baking soda, cooked in pressure cooker and they came out fine.

Re: small black Khanna recipe

^ maybe i just had a bad batch of channe.. my mum told me i should've soaked them, so i did for the next batch. Now i don't know if it softened with baking soda, or just naturally.

Re: small black Khanna recipe

Baking soda would probably make them more softer and add a slightly different flavor but technically you don't need baking soda to get them tender/soft.

So, I am confused, did you soak them the first time or not? Your last post is kind of confusing.

Re: small black Khanna recipe

Many times i made them according to bajiascooking.. i soaked in water only.. turned out fine

the last time i made them, same recipe, soaked in water only.. did not cook at all.. even 3 times in pressure cooker, plus 3 hours on the stove, with lots of water, still no luck, so i took them to my mum's house. She's an expert at cooking (like all mothers) and they still didn't go soft. So she suggested to use the baking soda
