When your mom makes Paye, does anyone literally suck on the bones? I heard it today…it was not an immediate family member but OHMIGOOOOOOOOOOOSH…my tummy was doing flip flops.
Is this normal? My fiance made a joke about it later…he says “Bichare kya karein? Acha khana khane ke liye insaan ko thorda battameez hona parta hai”!
Excuse me…there will be no slurping on my dinner table! :pcg:

Eeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwww, you have NO idea how much sucking and gnawing at bones irritates me. I'm not much of a meat person.....but the sound is irritating. Do you wanna know how irritating. Alright, here is an analogy for you........The ssslurping sound of one sucking marrow from bones is as lovely as running sharp longer finger nails down a chalkboard!

Paye? Thats like umm feet isnt it? Oh God I cant imagine that ever being on my dinner table let alone watching/hearing people suck at it or slurp the marrow out… thats enough to make me just throw up right there… eeeelkh!

Whats wrong with eating paye or sucking on the bone to get the meat out, you pay for it, might as well use it to the fullest.
People suck on a lot nastier things yet that stuff is okay but sucking on paye, OMG EEWWWW!

Ditto! My parents and brother enjoy eating paaye........my sister and I don't. Still can't believe my dad chose to make Paaye over nihari/haleem last Eid party.
zahir hai…kon manay ga ke unki family mein aisa hota hai jaisa woh pasand nahe kartay. meri family perfect…dosray sab paindu.
as for paye…mein tumharay ser pe plate rakh ke hadiyan choopon ga…slurp slurp.
aur phir tumhara rona-dhona record kar ke…puff-daffy ke ganay ke sath remix kar ke indian flip-flop awards mein bhaijon ga.

LOL slurrrrrpingg isnt so bad- i went to my sisters inlaws house and her MIL and FIL were litterally licking the plate after all the slurrping and chewing the bone- and im sitting there staring at her so grossed out- until she looks at me and says- aakhir mein upni ungliyon (fingers) ko chaat te hian-- thats when i just got up and was like ok dinners over for me HAHAH-

If you hate that slurping sound,then how about the irritating sound people make while drinking tea/soup,etc?
It is possible to eat, drink soup, drink beverages … WITHOUT slurping!
I abhor slurping. It’s my biggest pet peeve.
BTW i think eating paaye is something that grows on you as you become older. I used to hate them as a child, but now i don’t mind them

PM Bhai, I love Paye...just cannot bring myself to sit down and actually work on the haddiyan of it. I dip my roti in the shorba and eat the meat and thats it.
