Slow start downfall for Pakistan?

A couple of points to be noted is that despite the poor starts Pakistan had in the 2nd and 3rd odi, they were off to very good starts in terms of run-rate. Why did Salman and Kamran start of so slowly today? Pakistan had lost their first four wickets quickly in the 2nd 3rd and 4th odi, but their run-rate was very decent in the 2nd and 3rd odi despite the loss of wickets. In both the 2nd and 3rd odi, they may have fell short about 20 runs in each match, but because of today’s slow start by kamran and salman (26 runs in the first 10 overs), the batting crumbled to even a smaller total. Pakistan did put up decent totals in the 2nd and 3rd odi, but the bowling let them down in both matches. Today, the batsman let them down largely due to the very slow start. If Pakistan had got off to a decent start and still lost wickets like they did, the score may have been around 220-230 instead of 160, and would have pushed India especially on this pitch.

What do you guys think?

Re: Slow start downfall for Pakistan?

niz_b... things happen.. they tried something different since they were lossing quick wickets in the last two ODI's they might have thought "ok lets play slowly but try not to loose quick wickets" .. well we all know it didn't go that way..

I am still convienced that Pakistan team is very well composed. These young players need grooming.. coaching and they will inshaAllah beat every team..

plus we have to admit that teams lose. Everyone of the teams do loose in some major tournament.. pakistan has been doing amazign well and if we lost one ODI series doesnt mean the end of the world or team.. :)

so relax and watch the karachi ODI with proud heart for your team.. :)
