Your metabolism has much to do with how quickly you lose "baby weight" but something you should never do is diet while pregnant unless you have the specific ok of your doc. You NEED more calories, regular mealtimes and healthy foods while pregnant and nursing to ensure the health of your baby. DONT take chances with this. Because for YOU, maybe it means a few less pounds but for your baby, it could mean the difference between being a college graduate or being a grocery-store stock person. Sorry to be blunt but its true.

If your main concern is losing weight, when you breastfeed, you BURN calories like mad. You get really hungry too but most of those extra calories go to milk production and baby-care. Eat healthy and wise and dont worry about losing weight till baby is a bit older.
