Sliding wardrobes ..

Right , so I am looking at options but they are like skyrocketing in price … anyone in England knows of any shops/stores selling them in cheaper prices? :hmmm:

I dont like IKEA quality much … they arent spacious from inside …

Re: Sliding wardrobes ..

depending on what line you are looking at in IKEA I think some of their wardrobes are fantastic.
we have walk in closets in the house so dont need those but really like the look of some. I think the collection is mostly the same between US ad UK

Re: Sliding wardrobes ..

Hmmm … thanks X2 , i will try looking at their range again …walk in closets  wish we had space for that :hinna: …

Re: Sliding wardrobes ..

I got mine from Harveys, they cost more than the Ikea kind but are much larger especially in height. However, I purchased them during a sale and managed to get an extra 15% off that price as well otherwise I would have had to buy the Ikea ones.

Another advantage of the Harveys wardrobes was that they were installed for me. Phew.

In my other bedroom I paid a carpenter to build some sliding wardrobes, and bought the tracks and doors from Homebase and had the shelves custom designed to the heights that I wanted.

I think both options cost around the same, I certainly don't recall there being a dramatic difference in price..

Re: Sliding wardrobes ..

wow , that sounds good Brit chick … we are doing wall to wall ones … can those be done by a carpenter? Coz I was having those thoughts of having them done myself rather then buying the pre designed shelves … :hmmm:

Re: Sliding wardrobes ..

Yes, mine are wall to wall which is why I got a carpenter to build them so that I wouldn't end up with any wasted space at the ends. You save money this way to not having to buy extra wood for the end panels.

Re: Sliding wardrobes ..

I have ikea ones, they go up to the ceiling, are sliding and have a lot of space.

I'll find them on Ikea and post a link later. If I remember correctly though the wardrobe I have was the only one with dimensions as big as that in Ikea, so it may not be to your taste. Also depending on your walls you'll need to put additional support on the wall to hold the wardrobes in place and to ensure they are all level.

Re: Sliding wardrobes ..

Why dont you think about getting fitted cupboards? I got mine done and yes they cost a little bit more but are worth the effort and money....it makes ur room look much tidier and also u get so much space 4 clothes..which us girls need...
