Sleeveless kameez/dresses

Hi. I’m Paki and I’m British. I’ve not been Pakistan in years but am due to visit sooner or later! I’m 18 and by the time I visit I’ll be 19.

I have a question though, do girls in Pakistan wear sleeveless kameez? If so, is it common or uncommon? Do you see women/girls wearing it in public?

For example:

Re: Sleeveless kameez/dresses

I'll be visiting Lahore by the way

Re: Sleeveless kameez/dresses

The anarkali itself is a bit fancy for everyday lahore. I’m more used to seeing that silhouette at weddings. It’s really humid right now so you’ll want something that breathes more and is looser. Wearing anything tight makes me feel like dying because of the heat.

Most of my friends wear jeans and sleeveless but the thing is it depends where you’re living and the kind of places you’re visiting. If we’re going to eat out or go to random malls it’s never been an issue but yeah if you’re going to get out of your car and walk around to visit smaller shops it’s better to change into a sleeved kurti with jeans or tights.

Thisis the type of stuff I’ve been wearing all summer.

Re: Sleeveless kameez/dresses

^That..

Also ask your cousins or other family who live there cos obviously it does depend a lot on the sort of places you'll be going..

Re: Sleeveless kameez/dresses

You can't go wrong with a kurta and churidaar tights or palaazo.its really hot and humid, maybe have your cousins buy you a few kurtas (sleeves or sleeveless, get an idea about it from your cousins) and then go shopping.

upload related some pics.

Re: Sleeveless kameez/dresses

you can pretty much wear anything you want to but do make sure its according to where you are going to be staying.
for example: wearing sleeveless in a party vs wearing it while walking on road? see the difference.
Just today i saw a women wearing sleeves and she was walking on the road...perhaps passing and obviously all eyes were on her. So one must think through where they are going and dress accordingly.

Re: Sleeveless kameez/dresses

I visit Islamabad and it's perfectly fine to wear sleeveless kameez over there. I'm sure it's the same in Lahore as my cousins tend to wear Western clothes/ sleeveless kameez.
