Re: sleeping problems

Your mind is not relaxed. Your brain is processing too much too often. Observe proper prayers & read Quran, and try to relax your mind when you are awake during the day.
That should help you sleep better.

thanks i will try and clear my head tonight and see how long i sleep for

Re: sleeping problems

take the sleeping pill ambien

Re: sleeping problems

I have a similar problem in that I DONT sleep at all at night. Its really bad and I was prescribed sleeping pills, but i cannot take them for too long because they are addictive. DR's have told me to:

  1. Consume your day doing a mixture of chores that need doing and doing pleasurable things, like a walk in the park or whatever you do to treat yourself

  2. Only use your bedroom and your bed for sleeping in. I mean to say that dont sit on your bed reading, watching TV, writing, eating etc. Only use it for sleeping on.

  3. Drink something warm before going to sleep, but something that doesnt have a high content of caffeine in it, like coffee. This includes tea. Drink hot chocolate or a herbal tea. Try Ovaltine.

  4. When you really cannot sleep at night, get out of the bed and do something that you dont enjoy. Do this OUTSIDE of your bedroom. This could be reading a bad book, watching the bingo chickita on TV - Whatever. Also, it might help to write down what your thoughts are at that moment - writing it down can help you phychologically transfer those thoughts to the paper and away from your head. After this, try going to sleep at night.

  5. Keep the air in your room well circulated and fresh, change your sheets regularly.

Hope this helps!!!

Re: sleeping problems

Oh yeah, a herbal supplement called Valerian helps, also or nightol

Re: sleeping problems

Perhaps your body isn't tired enough to relax..So,try to have alot of physical activities during the day which can make you tired..and take a nice warm bath before you go to bed.

Re: sleeping problems

Have a cup of warm milk with a tablespoon honey and go to bed. you will sleep really well:)

Re: sleeping problems

I don't like to use sleeping pills and my doctor ordered Ambien as having the least side effects which is almost correct. I find that even on this small dose there are days when I feel the after effects of drowsiness and what I realize - now that I've read some of these other comments - nighmares. Actually I've had just one but I put it down to the Ambien. I'm not in the US at the moment and see that there's a newer sleep-aid - tho it's been in Europe for 10 yrs - and it's Estorra(Sepracor, Imovane, Amobon) On my next visit to the doc I'll ask him for this one. I find that the smallest dose is the best for me being that i'm elderly. It would be interesting to see the reports on this other med.
