i slept with a blanket that i used to call “nini”…i couldnt sleep w/o it.
I still have it in my closet..inshallah I’ll give it to my first born.

My sister kept a blanket from her infancy days.
I believe mom made her throw it out last year.
She used to call it “nini tambal”.
(tambal = cambal= blanket)

Oh of my nephew sleeps with my other sister, his khala… so she is Nini khala

I'm so glad they don't Ferberize kids in Pakistan. They hold ears and nuths until they fall asleep.

I always used to sing before sleeping

Something… anything. I NEEDED to sing to fall asleep. When me and my sister had our beds in the same room, she complained many times that my singing disturbed her But I wouldnt listen. Many times, my mom would instruct us to go straight to sleep but as soon as she’d leave, I’d start to sing. So, she’d come back after sometimes only to check and find me singing. She’d just knock on the door (I’d bet she used to listen through the door and admire my singing ) and say, “-----, ab so jaao.” I would go all quiet waiting for her to leave to start singing again but that’s when I’d fall asleep.
