So munchkin is almost four months now. I have noticed that he doesn’t sleep by himself. When he’s really tired and sleepy he’d just get cranky and start whimpering and eventually cry but not sleep. He needs a cuddle, hug and I have to lie with him to put him to sleep.
Any ideas how to get him to soothe himself to sleep on his own?
Enigmatic Jr was the same way I started by putting him down in his crib after he would fall asleep. And then put my dupatta next to him so he could smell me and think that he is still with me.
Slowly I started putting him down when he started getting sleepy. It was tough but I was persistent in making him sleep in his crib.

Do one thing when it's his sleeping time put him in his crib when babies become very tired n cranky thn it becomes very difficult to put them to sleep don't wait for him being tired.
What I used to do bath,feed n thn in bed she used to play there for while n thn eventually sleep.

Ive tried that too. He just plays for a while and then gets cranky and start crying! And the moment he has me with him or he’s in my lap, he falls asleep

It's okay let him sleep wherever he wants to, he won't be this little for long.
Does he take pacifier or suck his thumb? Cuppycake was sleeping with me until he discovered thumb sucking.. Since that day, he falls as keep on his own in his crib n goes back to sleep if he wakes up at night time. ( after I have fed him of course) they need somethibg to soothe themselves while trying to back to sleep.
I didn't make N effort but this is what I have seen cupcake doing..
I purr him down in his crib, turn on the mobile, turn off the lights except the night light and leave the room.., 10/ mins later, he is knocked out, thumb in his mouth and him on his stomach...since he can lift his head now and even change sides,I m not worried about him sleeping on his stomach...he started this around 4 months!
But I have ro say I cant do text book parenting..I am going with flow...on his cues!

It is a challenge to make them go to sleep. With my son, we come up with a routine, he starts sleeping well. But whenever he got his vaccination shot, he ll stay up for couple of nights because of pain and reaction to the shot. But afterwards we end messing up the whole sleeping routine. And I feel like Im standing where I started from. My son is noe 5.5 months mashallah. We are coming up with a routine and a schedule. Its been great now. You should try the following link. Its a sleep sense program by Dana Obleman. You do not have to pay for anything. I think there is a program you pay for too. But I guess just sign up for the email thing. You get emails that guide you through everyday.

Im not saying it will work exactly how she is telling you. Because each baby is different. But you can get some tips and can polish your baby’s sleep routine/ problems.
