I read about it in Scientific America. Laboratory production is a year away, and mass production is just a decade away. Real problem is regulatory approval and long term health effects on eaters.

For Muslims as usual the problem will be, can we eat it.. .no we can’t .. .well that mullah said this.. .i don’t believe with that.. lets look at haadith.. and Quran… .. repeat all the steps forever.

I go with the fatwas issued by Mullas influenced by Western system of education and there are plenty of those. They can relate to ground realities , a mullah from a pind of Pakistan or even from urban area of Pakistan is cut off from realities of life. So I am good to go.
Another thing, a Mulla influenced with Western system of education will not have a vested interest so if he made a mistake in fatwa he is safe and if I am following his fatwa I am safe too.
