Sky News & the British Attitude

Dear Sky

I was preposterously shocked to hear an interview that one of your newscasters was conducting. He had invited four people discussing the ongoing situation in Afghanistan. Two were ex-British service men and two belonged to the so called “analysts” of the afghan war.

I was baffled to see one of the analyst say that the crux of the problem is Pakistan. There are ISI training camps in Pakistan, training the Taliban’s to carry out strikes in Afghanistan and then cross the border back to Pakistan for their safety.

The newscaster should have corrected him by saying that he should provide proof for his claims or “who had given him this piece of intelligence?”. The claim was as absurd as a claim made by one of the Pakistani analyst(on a local news channel) saying that “UK and USA’s intelligence is fuelling sectarian violence in Iraq by blowing up innocent Iraqis of different sects and blaming it on insurgents” at which point the Pakistani newscaster stopped him and asked him for proof and told him to abstain from conspiracy theories.

Please get your facts right , I quote general Abizaid and William Crocker (US ambassador to Pakistan) who in a recent interview said that people who say Pakistan should do more should come over to Pakistan and meet the widows and orphans of Pakistani soldiers who sacrificed their lives for a war that they were not a part of. People at sky making such remarks shows that our soldiers lost their lives in vain. Please make a public apology so that the next generation of Pakistani soldiers who are fighting “Your” war don’t lose hope in the dwindling attitude of their colonial masters.

A pakistani

PS:*I find CNN totally unbiased and applaud them for correctly portraying every effort Musharaff is making well done ! *

Re: Sky News & the British Attitude

Sky news is owned by an a$$*&^%$, & they are hell bent on portraying a negative image of Pakistan, & they have to a certain extent.

Geroge galloway was right in every aspect when he came for an interview on sky.

Re: Sky News & the British Attitude

underthecross, have you sent the letter to Sky?

Re: Sky News & the British Attitude

yes :)

Re: Sky News & the British Attitude

Sky is only doing what the Neocon in US and Blairites in UK want. I have not seen Sky but my understanding is it is another FOX news. Anyway its high times for muslims in us, uk and canada to actively participate in media forums of their countries by writting letters to the editors and writting opinions. But it will only help if we subscribe to the newspaper. No bussiness likes to loose customers and lost of subscription would be a powerful motive for newspapers to start presenting balanced views.

Re: Sky News & the British Attitude

sky new is one of these OTT organisations at times, a lot of crap and easily influenced at times for an exclusive. It's owned by NEWSCORP who owns Fox News. Fox News is it's siter station and at night broadcasts an episode instaed of sky news.
