you can buy raw denim that isn’t washed. levis 501 shrink to fit jeans are probably the most accessible ones around. unfortunately it is also highly fashionable to buy unwashed denim, and hence usually costs a lot more than washed denim - which btw gets washed in places like haiti where the natives are poor and don’t know yet about their natural resources being sold dirt cheap for western corporate interests. none of these items have their true ecological impacts priced in into their usual cost.
