ok so i m interested in buyin a nice pair of maternity jeans for myself. i was wonderin if they have skinny jeans in their maternity collection? i m in week 15 rite now… almost 2 weeks away for strtin 5th month. i want jeans that shud last me till the end of pregnancy..
i had 32 inch waist before pregnancy so wot size am i accordin to the US? size 14??? i m plannin to ask my cousin to get me a pair from the US. and i was wonderin how to tell her my size so she buys a gud maternity jeans acc. to that… any suggestions?

I found my favorite maternity jeans at JC Penney, you can check them out online too. You order your regular size (they even have a sizing chart with measurements on their site so you can get the best fit) and when you first start wearing them, the stretchy panel is close fitting to your tummy and remains very comfortable even as it stretches out to full pregnancy size.

I went to other stores, much more expensice (like "Motherhood") but no jeans ever measured up to JC Penneys.

They have all sizes. I was a size 6 in regular jeans so thats what I got at JCP. They fit just like my regular jeans. And I'm pretty sure that they go down to size 2 (which fits a person that weighs about 95 pounds).

I've been looking for skinny jeans too, and no luck so far. BUT you can use a regular pair of skinny jeans and use the Bella Band or some similar product over them.

Topshop sell Maternity skinny jeans here in the UK. Or now most shops sell leggings style jeans, called jeggings. They are really comfortable, and look like jeans!!

yeah sahar that was exactly my plan in case i cudnt find the materinty jeans. i love my skinny jeans.... i cnt dream of being without it!!
i m in uae so where do i get this bella band? this is brand name rite? wot kind of elastic is this? i was thinkin cud i ask my tailor to stitch this elastic on my jeans?? what do u all think??/

Yeah, I found it itself at Target, but have seen maternity shops with similar items. Could you order online maybe?

I really want skinny jeans cuz so many of the maternity outfits are loose flowy tops that look best with skinny jeans or leggings, but I feel the leggings are just a bit too revealing sometimes. Proper jeans will be better.

Just the thought of "tight" "fitting" jeans during pregnancy - makes me feel suffocated.

Go for leggings they can be good fighting plus it's stretchy material - aahhhhhhh the comfort! :)

thaz precisely the reason y they have maternity jeans :slight_smile: cus they are stretchy from the waist. like sahar i also think it looks weird to wear lose flowy shirts/tops with normal jeans. only skinny works best with these. leggins are good but since they are a bit tighter, they show more legs, their shape etc so i wud only wear those if my tops are super long.

also, Mothercare has skinny maternity jeans- if I remember correctly, they’re in Dubai too. if they’re not readily available, you could have the store order them in for you.

thx alot SGC. this was really helpful esp the bella band :slight_smile: i m not sure if my cousin will b comin or not but i really dun want to buy skinny jeans online as it will cost me more for the courier/shippin charges etc. i guess i shud first try to find skinnies here.
i dunno y but i m unable to understand how bella band will work on jeans. ofcourse its an interestin concept and wud love to try but i m tryin to think how it will help me breathe if i wear it on top of my pre-pregnancy jeans? as it is those jeans are tight for me esp if i sit then its v uncomfortable. wot wud bella band do in that case? further make it tighter? :S i know that i m suposed to unzip or even unbotton my jeans but sometimes the tops are not that long so in that case this wudnt b possible rite?? arrrrrrghhhhh, i m so confused!!

You don't zip or button your pants closed with the Bella Band. The band itself holds them up. It can be tricky sometimes, but it's worked pretty well for me so far. I have one in black and one in white.

And yeah, you just wear it with longer tops mostly. The band also looks more like a tank top or something coming out from beneath your shirt, so you can do the layered look.

(hugs) thx sahar :) so here i m all unbuttoned and unzipped with only the belly band holding my jeans from gettin down rite? :D yeah the only -ve thing abt it, i cant wear medium or normal size shirts/tops with it but thats not a bad price to pay... i m gonna see if can find bella band in dubai... btw this is brand, what exactly is this kinda elastic called? pls tell me name so i can search and ask the stores. if someone can pls search up and let me know where in dubai i can find this, wud b v mch appreciated!!! thx
