I prefer a very matte look and for this purpose wanted to buy a good matifying serum. When I explained my combination skin I was advised to avoid the matifying serum altogether and manage the oily areas by blotting.

I use the MAC’s Marine Bright hydrating serum and cream twice a day and use matifying serum only on special occasions or for events when photographs will be taken.

I’m sorry but I don’t know about the specific cream and serum that you are using… perhaps someone with experience in that specific brand can offer some suggestions…
