Skin-tone

Re: Skin-tone

Thanks guys. I'm not too keen on MAC foundations, seeing it in real and didn't like the look, so I was looking at other brands. I will be going and asking a makeup artist in selecting the right shade for me when I go buy the foundation. I just wanted to have an idea.

I read somewhere that desis aren't olive at all, more yellow than anything, and it seems like if you show me a sample (ie a model) I'm color blind and can't point and say ok this is me. So another question, what is the difference between olive and yellow undertones? I get yellow, it's simple to understand but does olive mean slightly greenish undertones?

Re: Skin-tone

I found it VERY hard too, I just went to a MAC counter and was all like 'I don't know what I'm doing', they hooked me up and I've never looked back :) Shop around makeup counters, you'll get amazing advice and freebies!

Freebies ?!! you were lucky ! but i have to admit some people working at mac are really nice, depends where you go. i went to sephora the other day and the sales assistant gave a sample to my sister so i'm like "can i also have one please" and she goes, we only give samples to people who actually buy things. what the !!!!

Re: Skin-tone

I hate people like that! One of my friends sisters worked at a makeup counter in Debenhams and I used to get freebies all the time, I hardly see her anymore sniffle, I heard that if you get a £25 makeover done at MAC you can also buy £25 worth of makeup (you won't get a lot but meh) has anyone else heard this or is it just a rumour?

Have you noticed women on counters at Debenhams are so much nicer than the ones at Selfridges?!
