I heard loads about the effects of skin polishing treatment in beauty parlours in Lahore. When i went there all the young girls and women (who could afford it) had amazing skin which was shining and just so amazing looking. I didn’t think to ask more questions at the time.
I was wondering if any of you can help answer these questions:
Qn1: What is skin polishing all about? (What’s the technique? Does it work?)
Qn3: Where can I get this treatment from in London. I heard that Joshiv has this treatment: has anyone tried it?
Re: Skin Polishing Treatment (pre-wedding prep for face)
theres this indian beauty salon here in florida and i had gotten my face "polished" she used these two really cold creme gel like substances on my face and basically just gave me a massage ...kinda like in a facial. I really didnt see any difference. If ur young lyk teens or in ur twenties we usaully already have good skin so its hard to see the difference but when someone a little older gets it done, its looks nicer.
thats just my opinion.
Skin "polishing" is only done in Pakistan/India and it's more or less bleach combined with various creams.. followed-by a regular facial. LOTS of salons suggest u get it done before u're wedding but if u havn't had it done before please don't try it.. it can lead to severe reactions and breakouts.
Re: Skin Polishing Treatment (pre-wedding prep for face)
i have gotten it done in Houston...as Gina said its like bleach just really stronger...which kind off scared me since i have really sensitive skin...anyways the one time i did get it done i liked it a lot...my face was so smooth (guessing bcuz of the facial). i didn't have any side effects but i just didn't get it done again.

Thank you Gina, it's good you told me since I have hyper-sensitive skin, I breakout after strong treatments. I was imagining it to be just a good exfoliation session. I definately don't want to use bleach. I'm not fair skinned, more of a wheatish uneven complexion which I want evened out but not lightened, I like my skin colour exactly the way it is :)
Re: Skin Polishing Treatment (pre-wedding prep for face)
Gina thanx for helping us....:) i got a wheatish and even skin, im 27 and never tried bleaching my skin. But what cd be done before wedding to make smooth and shiny skin. i ve read the thread 'glowing brides'. shd i go for facial before wedding? i never even tried facial before. the only problem i found on my face are dark circles under eyes.
If u have a wheatish complexion that's gorgeous too, i'm glad this isn't a "I wanna be fairer" thread! A skin "polish" is mixture of bleach and other bleaching agents that bring about noticeable changes due to the large amount of chemicals.
If u have clear skin, continue doing whatever u're doing. If u REALLY want to get facials done start getting them 3 months prior to u're wedding.. and stick to the same facials and same salon. Diff products might make u breakout.
Re: Skin Polishing Treatment (pre-wedding prep for face)
i would never recommend someone this "polishment treatment"...one of my aunts did...oh my god...just sideeffects!! its not more than bleaching...gina already told it !!

Re: Skin Polishing Treatment (pre-wedding prep for face)
I had skin polishing done when I was in Pakistan I didn’t get it bc I was getting married I just wanted to know wut the fuss was all about =)
I dont think it did anything to my skin it just gave it the same glow as bleach does however, I did notice that the effect of bleach lasts longer than skin polishing.
Also, if anyone is getting married soon I would recommend getting a monthly facial 6-3 month before the wedding the earlier you start the better it is bc if your skin tends to break out then u should get it done evry other month. the good thing about getting a facial is that it does not clog pores and if you are consistent with it you dont end up getting those ugly blackhead by ur nose chin or forehead area. Also, it gives your skin a smooth and glossy look.

Re: Skin Polishing Treatment (pre-wedding prep for face)
Ive got Skin Polishing many a times here in Lahore. I don't have a very good skin but the polish did make it look cleaner the next day. Basically, it is a bleaching agent for your skin & some parlours do take our black heads in the process, scrub your skin & massage as well. In the end, your skin has a neater look.
Go for it, if an event is coming up & also have it done well in advance so you know that it suits you or not.
