Skin: Face & Body

Why is it that our face and body skin types hardly ever match?

Your face could be so oily that you keep getting pimples and your body could be so dry that you get pityriasis rosea

What makes the face so different from the rest of our body?

Re: Skin: Face & Body

face and body have differrnet skin.....just like hand and feet....

now you can't compare the skin on the bottom of your foot with your scalp...can you??

its just different

Re: Skin: Face & Body

Maybe it’s just you?! :stuck_out_tongue: I think most have similiar skin condition all over :D.

Re: Skin: Face & Body

So true…but then again even the skin on your face varies. My skin is pretty much normal to oily around my T-zone, but dry around my cheeks. Weird. :hmmm:

Re: Skin: Face & Body

it could mean your cheeks are too big, and have spread the sebaceaous glands wider, rendering the epithelium drier than should be.

Re: Skin: Face & Body

^ But if the sebaceous glands was wider surely they'd be producing more oil? So, if my cheeks were too big they'd be oily...maybe it's my nose that's big :p

Re: Skin: Face & Body

that is very likely. please post a full length photo for accurate diagnosis of your condition.

Re: Skin: Face & Body

Maybe the skins also different due to degress of exposure to elements and external damage.

It’s obvoius that hands and faces tend to take a greater battering than other parts of the body… for example… a hard worker will always have calluoused hands.

Perhaps the skin on the face can be suffering from different conditions due to the exposure it gets… :hmmm:
