Re: Skin care routine
Morning:
Splash cold water...apply Vitamin C serum....15 min. later apply sunscreen.
When I get home from work/gym (I usually go to gym after straight from work):
Splash with cold water. Wipe face/neck with Biore toner.
About an hour before bed:
Apply Retin-A or Alpha Hydroxy 12% Glycolic Soufflee (I alternate between these two).
If skin is a little dry or flaky, then right when I'm going to bed, apply argan oil (I give the RA or Glycolic lotion an hour to soak in).
** Every 3 weeks or so I do a lactic or glycolic peel. 2-3 days before and after the peel, I apply nothing but argan oil at night.
Paheli, where do you get your Retin A from? Is it the microgel or the cream you're using?
LOL....I've actually simplified my routine over the last 2 years or so. And I also spend like 1/4 of the money I used to. No derm. visits. All as a result of HOURS and HOURS and HOURS of DIY research...along with trial & error (not everything works for everyone's skin). :)
You sound like me. :)
I have spent so much money, energy and hours figuring out my skin. If you have sensitive skin, your face forces you to pay attention to these things, lol.
My routine:
Morning: 30% glycolic acid wash followed by a 2% salicylic acid toner followed by a light layer of the rosehip oil (thank you stoppit).
Night: Pretty much the same.
Some variations in my routine:
-Sometimes to give myself a break from such strong products I will use a cleanser I found with Premier Research Labs. Its entirely herbal and I really like the way it works on me.
-Once a week I will do an olive oil, lemon and honey mask overnight. Equal parts. Olive oil is AH-mazing!
I have also recently started to become diligent about my makeup removal. This has made a significant difference in my skin. I try to skip it altogether a couple of days during the week.
I am looking to add to my night time routine though. A night cream and an eye cream to hydrate around my eyes. My skin under my eyes is dry and that scares me...its like begging for wrinkles. :(
