Sizzling summer in Pakistan

With temperature above 40 degrees and humudity above 60%. This is the month of June in Pakistan. But at the same time, probably this is the sweetest month here with so many delicious fruits coming to market - aam (so many varieties) khoobani, aaro, aallochay, turbooz, khurbooz etc.

Most of the fruits you overseas guys can find in the UK or USA but there are some unique fruits you wont find over there - they are falsas, jamun, cheeko etc.

Some of the western fruits are now being farmed here in Pakistan - we saw loads of strawberries from Sindh and Punjab in March and now very tasty cherries from Quetta and Ziarat are being sold in Karachi.

Re: Sizzling summer in Pakistan

With temperature above 40 degrees and humudity above 60%

little correction , humidity above 60% with this temprature happens only in july , august, only for few days may be which is unbearable… In May june it is less than 20 % in punjab

It like this dry hot weather, cuz of many reasons, one of them is availability of delicious fruits in pakistan, fruit juices, lussi, ice cream and milk shake not to forget loadshedding :k:

absolutely hate that damp hot weather. It is suffocating

Re: Sizzling summer in Pakistan

Yes you are right! I mixed Karachi's weather with one in up-country. Temperature in Karachi ranges between 36-38 centrigrade with humudity around 65% in Karachi. But temperature in upper country is more than 40 degrees with humudity around 20-30%.

In late July and August Karachi's temperature would come down to 30-31 degrees and humudity around 55% making it more pleasent. But in Punjab and NWFP, it is going to be very humuid and hot then.

Re: Sizzling summer in Pakistan

Jamun is Indian blackberry or java plums.

Jungle jaleebi is Manila Tamarind - a native of Mexico and grown in Florida as well.

Re: Sizzling summer in Pakistan

And it turns your mouth purple, but I still love it and miss it.

Re: Sizzling summer in Pakistan

Punjabi main jamnu kehte hain:)

Re: Sizzling summer in Pakistan

You can’t find jamun in Oman then try some gulab jamun.:cb:
