Siye = sewn, siye log doesn't make sense. May be its lab siye log which means silent people

Yes I think it's 'lab siye log'

it could be the siyeh word which means:
*siyeh [short for siyaah] = black
*
so, siya(h) log would mean black people [siyaah faam]

As in I've heard this being used a lot in Punjab, villages etc people giving nick names such as "Siye Badshah" "Siye Gee" "Siye Log"....is it something to do with being quiet, uncared-for?
