does anyone know the anwser to what i asked? Iv always been brought up to recite all 6 kalmay whenever i can. i recite them all the time, mainly before going to bed. I dont understand this whole “innovation” stuff.

gupguppy u can find the first, second and third as well (or atleast something similar) in some ahadith....
but to call them six kalimas of Islam and gruop them like this and make it an important issue for every muslim to memorize them etc etc is what i am talking about....

also, #5 & #6 are proving difficult to trace from hadith in their present wording...

first kalimah: la ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad rasool Allah

ArMughal Bhai, I do apologise if I sound Ignorant, Iman se comparing the knowledge you display you are in college and I am in pre K, please do forgive my ignorence, but I was under the impression there is only one Kalama, and if we are talking about the pillars of Islam, arent they supposed to be 5.

arent the just dua's? i know them with translation. i dont think they are foundation of aqeeda but they are just tasbeeh and duas to me.

why is it only 6? thats not alot to learn is it? in my family we get told to learn as much as we can. btw who said it has to be 6? man some pakis make sum funny innovations in Islam!

Thanks armughal. It prolly is the same, but the kids i knew with have an urdu version. goes like this, pehla kalima_____, ____ ma'ana paak, dooja kalima, teesra kalima...etc. Im trying to recall the words.

Not sure if it's the same thing, but we say
"Pahila Kalma Twayab", "Doosra Kalma Shahadat", "Teesra Kalama Tamjeed", "Chowta Kalma Tawheed" etc... before each one.

Is that wht you meant?

The kalimahs are just organized statements that describe our faith and belief. They are not biddah. There is no act of inaccurate religious practice in any of these. in fact reciting them or knowing them reiterates your faith.

There are several actual innovations that we should be worried about in our society.

There was a trend among elite mullahs, of early years, to introduce 1 new kalma, per 200 years. Part of the reason was, while earlier muslim scientists, were busy exploring the world, mullahs had not much to do. The trend stopped, until recently, I heard a 7th kalma is introduced.

Did someone say that the six Kalmas are only in the sub-continent?
That is incorrect. They are everywhere.
Yes, it would be good to study the origins of how and why they are organised that way.

The first Kalma is fundamental to our Faith and appears in the Quran. It is something every Muslim from every sect knows and recites.

The second Kalma is vital to becoming a Muslim. I have witnessed a few Sahadahs myself and it is used to bring people into Islam. Plus as per Ahadith if we do anything that sets us outside Islam (several small everyday mistakes do that), we must immediately do the Shahadah. So it is good prractice.

I suggest you study the life of the prohpet (PBUH) and you'll examples and applications.

The descriptions are secific to the reigions. To help people understand the purpose and application, like Tayyab man'e Paak, Shahad man'e Gawahi, Tamjeed man'e buzurgi... and so on. So students who don't know Arabic understand what it is.

My brothers and sisters, please don't reject any part of Islam, unless you are really sure about it. If you cannot find the reason yourself, please get help from an Alim.
