This is what my computer went thru when i tried using netscape for the site !!! I am hoping there is something wrong with my browser or local settings and not with the optimization of pak.org for different browsers.. can anyone else check it and let me know.. Thanks..

In task manager check the processes and click on the CPU to see whcih proccess is hoging the CPU.
thanks for all the replies but i already checked up in the task manager what was going on.. its the netscape process killing the computer with 100% usage for almost a minute.. i have cable modem so speed is not a problem.. not a very fast but 466 machine so i am assuming its not the culprit either… leaving the pak.org main page with too many tables which take for ever on netscape to get rendered..

.. atleast thats what i think unless someone else can come up with something else.. but if no one can, then i think the main page should have a big ‘Optimized for IE’ logo or something.. widely accessed site like this cant just afford to ignore the second mostly used browser.. just my thought.. no one has to agree..

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.. well all i can say at this point, that netscape has a bit (well BIT isnt the right word here, it HAS) some HEAVY codings.. look into the way it renders frames/tables/img etc etc.. and then look into the way netscape does.. i have minimized the usage of netscape in my network.. reason is same.. i only use it for downloading actual web based files or code-testing webpages.. :)

actually hes right … we have known this problem all along. its the cascadd style sheet that makes this mess .. also, its the table structure … the outer table does not disply until the inner ones get all the data from different ‘feeds’ …
having said that … i should also say that only 11% of our users are on netscape … and majority on very low resolutions … and frankly .. we designed the site for IE users

… there is a plan to redirect the netscape users to style-less pages … we will see how that goes .. right now we are all busy with some ‘cooler’ projects ..
no, actually no need for a NS page.. MAKE people upgrade to IE and stop using that sh!tty browser. Its not standards compliant and designing pages for it is just plain annoying.. plus you cannot use the advanced functions either.

yeah nestsacpe it sucks
i use it often but still its annoying.
but it is good when u making a page on html and u try to upload your page into a nestscape browser to check to see weather its working or not n if it doesn't work it will tell you exactly where your mistakes are by going thru the sourse file of nestscape browser.
