Sitcoms

The nost part of the television I watch is Sitcoms. They are only half an hour long and they make you laugh. So they are alot of fun to watch. My all time favourite has to be perfect strangers, perhaps because I watched it in my childhood and the past is always beautiful. Waiting anxiously for perfect strangers and full house every week was so frsutrating.

The sitcoms I like are Seinfeld, too bad its over, Frasier and everybpd’s favourite, Friends. I also like Will and Grace but frankly cant that much of gayness. I really liked Working, but them bastards in NBC cancelled it.

Alibeta Yar, you remember perfect strangers? Cousin Balky?

I loved Seinfled also. But I don’t get to see much TV these days, but sitcoms are always fun. One thing good about them is that unlike serials, every sitcom is a story within itself. My favorites used to be Stanford and Son and Cheers, and also MASH.

Perfect strangers used to be my favorite sitcom. I remember back in 80's they used to play in Pakistan.

I like watching sitcoms but I don't like watching them regularly. I think if you watch them with break, you enjoy them more but if you continuously watch them then you kinda get 'immune' to the laughs or humor and it does not remain that funny.

I have gone through different phases of watching sitcoms. Like Seinfeld, I used to like it, now I don't. Same thing with Mad about you. I guess the theme kinda gets boring for me after a while.

My favorites had been Friends, Mad about you, Perfect strangers, Cheers, Taxi, Mind your language (British), Will and Grace, and some others.

If I would to pick one sitcom that I hate most, I would pick Frasier.

Yar Roman, you still remember MIND YOUR LANGUAGE, it was good. I like Three's Company, Taxi, Family Ties, Married With Childern and forget the name of the one with Tony Danza working as maid.

Yes Roman, I don’t care for Kelsie Grammer (sp) either. I don’t find him funny at all. He was much better in Cheers, but not in Fraiser.

Johny, it was Who’s the Boss (man was he lucky or what?).

Mind your language was funny at that time, I don’t think I will enjoy it as much now.

These days, I find cooking shows very funny. Because everything else pretty much sucks. The new shows on TV are not very good. Or may be we are getting too old.

I can watch Cheers forever, given that it is a new one every time. I think Woody and Sam were the tops.

I don’t like Friends either. Too much pretentiousness in that show. And it is not that funny either. They give NY a bad name.

Oh yeah, forgot family ties. Michael J Fox has always been one of my favorites.

Ahmadi yar, you are right, friends isn't the same as it used to be. I used to like it at all when it started out. Nowadays I hardly find the urge to watch it. However, overall I think it still is a lot better than many other sitcoms.

I also forgot to mention Spin City and Drew Carey show. DC show is not always good, but once in a while they put together a good show.

Family ties was great too! It was great to see how the original cast stuck together all those years!

Mash was great but when the cast started to get changed, it got boring and more serious. I used to love Radar.

Mad about you was great, Paul Reiser made an awesome New Yorker.

Another teenage phase I went through was Saved by the bell. I used to love it! But then I had to much of screech. I used to like Family matters because of steve Urkel but when that dude hit puberty, that was enough of him!

Mind your language rocks! I used to love it,. last year when I went back to Pak, it was being show on Star, too bad they decoded it!

Anyway if anyone if anyone needs themes to these sitcoms. Lemme know, I just got hold of the perfect strangers theme songs. Punrani memories taza ho jaati hain. Larry Pinchto was awesome. I rememeber in the 94 he was the host of the Miss world, and he goes to bad miss Meepos couldnt make it to this year peagant because of eating all that goat fat!

Best English Sitcom…

Only fools & Horses.

You ppl have good taste indeed.

M*A*S*H will always be numero uno for me. That's true AliBeta, it did get boring later with all those rifts between actors and crew. I think no comic actor in history has been more suited to their role than Alan Alda'a potrayal of HawkEye.

Perfect Strangers and Cheers aren't from my generation either, but are very much quality stuff.

MS, methinks most of the N.American audiences wouldn't comprehend the english mentality of Only Fools and Horses.

Sitcoms like Friends and Frasier recycle their storylines over and over and over. The same ol' bland script.

And of course, for friends and large party gatherings, nothing beats Seinfeld and Whose Line is it Anyway.

I used to watch Perfect strangers in Pakistan, and then Full House. They always used to cut out the kissing scenes of those shows. Do they still do that now?

Seinfeld was superb but i am getting fedup with reruns now

Dharma & Greg is the best these days i guess

Other then that Fools & Horses, Keeping up Appearances, Some mothers do have em and there is this other brit comedy i forgot its name

my favourites would have to be threes company, family ties, different strokes, and i would stay up to watch falcon crest (even though its not a sitcom) i still liked it.

i didn't like saved by the bell, but i like watching frasier, seinfeld, friends and are you being served reruns.

cooking show--IRON CHEF! although i think its not right that the iron chef always wins, but still amusing to watch.

MS, I'm speaking from experience. The majority just don't! I've lived in both areas and when I introduced shows like Only fools, Are you being served and Yes minister to friends, most of them simply couldn't see the humnor in them. On the other hand, ones like Allo, Allo and Fawlty Towers are more popular because they're more slapstick. Two or three ppl thought EastEnders(even though you couldn't call it a comedy) was one of the most boring things they had ever seen! Anyway, there are definitely some ppl who enjoy british humor.
Still, OFAH will always be a a top show.

I think Seinfeld has to be one of the best ever.
Favorites while growing up were Family ties, Perfect Strangers, Who's the boss. Used to think Married with Children was funny , but can't stand the reruns anymore (must be the puberty to maturity thing).
I think the best ones now are, Freinds, Two Guys & and a girl (used to be two guys a girl, and a pizza place - or some other strange name), spin city & Fraiser (sometimes).

The Jeffersons were the bestttt
