Chaudhrys Shujaat and Elahi have always been supportive of sectarianism and Taleban-rule in Pakistan. Hence we see their alliances with fanatics. Such alliances also show the duplicity of Musharraf in his fight against Taleban. He is obvioulsy willing to ally with anyone who is willing to lengthen his rule.

سپاہ صحابہ کو صدر پرویز مشرف نے شدت پسندی میں ملوث ہونے کی بناء پر کالعدم قرار دیا تھا جبکہ مسلم لیگ (ق) ان کی (صدر مشرف) کی سب سے بڑی حامی جماعت ہے۔
اٹھارہ فروری کے مجوزہ عام انتخابات میں کالعدم جماعت کے سرکردہ رہنماء مولانا محمد احمد لدھیانوی قومی اسمبلی کے حلقہ 89 سے انتخاب میں حصہ لے رہے ہیں اور ان کا انتخابی نشان تانگہ ہے۔ جبکہ مسلم لیگ (ق) کے امیدوار الحاج محمد یعقوب شیخ پنجاب اسمبلی کے حلقہ ستتر سے انتخاب میں حصہ لے رہے ہیں۔
دونوں امیدوراوں نے اپنی اپنی تصاویر اور انتخابی نشانات کےساتھ جہاں مشترکہ پوسٹر شائع کرائے ہیں وہاں ایک ہی بینر اور سائن بورڈ بھی بنوائے ہیں۔ ان کے ایک پوسٹر پر لکھا ہے ’جان رب دی ووٹ جھنگوی دا‘۔
حق نواز جھنگوی سخت گیر سنی عقیدے کا پرچار کرنے والی تنظیم سپاہ صحابہ پاکستان کے بانی تھے۔ اس تنظیم کے رہنماء کفر کے فتوے لگا کر شیعہ عقیدے پر یقین رکھنے والے لوگوں کے قتل کو جائز قرار دیتے رہے ہیں۔
اس تنظیم کے حق نواز جھنگوی اور مولانا اعظم طارق سمیت متعدد سرکردہ رہنما مارے جاچکے ہیں۔
پاکستان سے انتہا پسندی اور شدت پسندی کے خاتمے کے حوالے سے صدر مشرف کی پالیسوں اور ان کے اقدامات پر اکثر مغربی میڈیا میں تنقید ہوتی رہی ہے۔ مغربی میڈیا کا دعویٰ رہا ہے کہ صدر پرویز مشرف کہتے کچھ ہیں اور ہوتا کچھ اور ہے۔
صدر مشرف کے حامی اور مخالفین کو ایک بار پھر اکٹھے دیکھ کر اس تاثر کو بظاہر مزید تقویت ملتی ہے کہ ان (مشرف) کی سیاسی ضروریات کے لیے شاید سب کچھ ہی جائز ہے۔

I was wondering why the supposedly “banned” SSP terrorist leader is being allowed to contest elections when “dangerous” people like Ch. Aitzaz and Ch. Iftikhar are jailed.

Jhang: The leader of a banned militant group is standing in the general election and says he will fight for the reinstatement of his group if he wins a seat in parliament.
Mohammad Ahmad Ludhianvi, head of the outlawed Millat-e-Islamia Pakistan, has a good chance of winning a seat in the town of Jhang in a poor farming district in Punjab province that has been a group stronghold for years.
“This is our seat and we’ll win it. No one can snatch this seat from us,” the bearded cleric said.
Millat-e-Islamia, or Nation of Islam, was formed in 2002 by members of the notorious Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan, a Sunni Muslim organisation that was for years involved in tit-for-tat killings with militants from the minority Shiite sect.
President Pervez Musharraf banned the Sipah-e-Sahaba and several other militant groups in January 2002 after joining the US-led campaign against terrorism following the September 11 attacks on the United States.
The US also put the Sipah-e-Sahaba on its watchlist of terrorist groups
