Re: Sino-Pak are not friends… they are BEST FRIENDS!
Did anyone catch the documentary made by the government of China about Chinese and Indian relationship? It was quite interesting. Something about the prospects of a free trade zone.
What always struck me as odd, other than a buffer against India, China has little utility from Pakistan. No trade benefit, no foreign policy coult, not really a strategic parternership. There is little Pakistan can do in the WTO, like forming a bloc as China, India, and Brazil did in Doha, for China. Perhaps this is a reason why China refuses to come to the aid of Pakistan in times of need. Does anyone know why China refuses to guarantee loans Pakistan gets?
And here you are, a Chinese businessman, doing business in India as opposed to Pakistan. Could this be a reason why: http://www.dawn.com/2005/08/14/ebr3.htm?
Perhaps you see there is more to export than jihad, something like this:http://www.jang-group.com/thenews/aug2005-weekly/nos-14-08-2005/pol1.htm#1
One question I have for you, did you petition your government to come to the aid of Pakistan in 1999 when Sharif, sent by Musharraf, came begging?
Chinese are renowned for their pargmatism, perhaps that is why China understands realpolitiks: http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2005-04/02/content_430408.htm. It’s probably is a good thing that the faux Chinese in the afore mentioned website are not formulating the foreign/economic policy of the Middle Kingdom.

India did not just pledge $25 million, it gave that amount, but you ingrates don’t want to recognize that, it’s your problem. So your definition of a good muslim is one who does not recognize the help from a neighbour just because you hate him. India should not have given anything.

Help? Help in what sense? Send the Pla? LOL… That would not be the most stupid thing to do in a war of this size. And since Pakistan knows to take care of itself and besides, if China does help pakistan in border skirmishes then it would extend to a full blown war drawing in other countries (India’s allies) like the US, Japan, etc. China would most likely get involved if they feel that pakistan is in trouble, and if india starts to move their troops into pakistan. At that time, trust me, China will come to their Aid. And if (hopefully not) that happens, i suggest you to begin your prayers.
I do not believe you asked me such a stupid question. Oh, with due respect, may i ask where you from?

China is also investing 600+ million dollars in Gwadar, and building the Deep Sea Port there, which will probably be the most strategic trade route between the Middle-East & Africa, and the Central Asian Countries & China. Pakistan will be able to sit back & enjoy the enormous transit fees, in return.
Re: Sino-Pak are not friends… they are BEST FRIENDS!
Does anyone know if the Baloch nationals accepted Punjabi domination of their coastline as well? I recall hearing somewhere that eleven Chinese engineers were killed in a bombing. And if I remember right, some French defense engineers were killed as well at some other time. I think I heard some pipelines were blown up too. Anyway…
One very interesting aspect of all this has been the way the Centeral Aisan countries have been so cool to this “most strategic trade route”. People are generally turned off by killings and bombings, particularly when there is a substantial and credible threat. However, it seems that beyond the Baloch nationalist threat, most Centeral Asian countries would rather not use a transit route through Pakistan. Even Afgahnistan, with whom Pakistan has “strategic depth” prefers transit through Iran. Something about being closer to the Persian Gulf and being able to transport goods safely. Even pipelines do not seem to be safe. A lot of Centeral Asian countris are a bit pissed at the seeming Pakistani unwillingness to control radicals going into nearby countries.
There is some utility that China will get from this, militarily. It can position listening posts check up on the US navy operating in the Persian Gulf. It can also protect it shipping lanes from the Gulf. Maybe throw a bone at the Uighurs in Xian Jiang too.
In terms of Pakistan, it probably learned a lesson from the blockade of Karachi. Even this is not an large scale option. A port 700km away from Karachi will buy some time, but Pakistan still would not be able to reasonably bar the INS from a blockade.
Sitting back and enjoying the transit fees requires having some transit.

Most of that is your personal opinions, and not really based on facts. If you had cared to go to Gwadur sometime (where some of us have been), you will see the place is flooded with Gulf, Central Asian, Chinese, Japanese, and of course American investors.

No. we remember very well that we lost a war aganist China. We study this chapter at our schools. Unlike our ultra special neihgbor who has converted all humilated defeats at our hands into self styled victories.

Sources? Nothing I’m saying here is unique or unknown. Anyone who reads anything relating to international news, particularly related to the the Indian Sub-Continent, knows all of this.
