some say they enjoy their day to day khana alot more if there is only one salan … while others like to have two salans at the same time …
Some like to have rice even after having chapati …
Are you one salan person or a two salan person
I will be honest , I am a three salan person .. the more the different types of salans and they make a khichri in my plate , the merrier I am at food time
I think with the mix of two salans , once can still taste them individually , but with the mix of three salans … its a total khichri and you cant tell which is which … I do the khichri when I am being forced by loved ones to eat meat …
**mujhe ek practical joke yaad aa gayaa…mere ghar mere uncle aaye to jab unke liye khaanaa parosaa gayaa to mez pe baiThne se pahle ek nazar khaanoN pe Daalte huye [qorma, kabaab, biryaanii, sabzii, daal] daal kii taraf ishaara kar ke bole:
“achchhaa to maharaanii jii mujh se pahle hii yahaN aa dhamkiiN!” **
I like having a variety of salans at table…so I can eat what I like rather than being forced to eat what i dislike
Anyway’s I’m a rice person…I love rice
1 salan... i hate making 3 salans in one day and then having to think of 3 more for the next day. the only way i will make more than one dish for a meal time is if the in laws are having something nasty and teh husband and i want something human to eat. otherwise... suck it up folks..
We dont have any rule for it. Sometimes we have one salan, sometimes one salan and one vegg and sometimes no salan at all (like Tahari, Mutter Pulaoo, Biryani etc, Fish stakes )
btw, I love eating the mix of Salan and Daal ...yum yum
