We’re in the market for one and will probably be trying out a couple over the next week before we decide on one. Just wanted to know if anyone has specific recommendations for machines or supply sources for cups/discs.
Right now I’m using a Keurig and the coffee is decent enough. Next in line for testing is Tassimo.
the illy francis francis Y1 espresso maker and the Gaggia for illy iperEspresso and the fancis francis x7 which takes capsules or ground coffee
Y1 just looks awesome, very much my style. gaggia..well nuff said. illy and gaggia means a combo of one of the best coffee companies and one of the best machine companies, and the x7 offers flexibility of using pods or grounds.
now if y1 was made by gaggia and used pods or grounds, it would be a simple choice :)
tassimo is okay, prefer nespresso in my view is better. try them out.
Those are some high end machines bro... I was looking for something meager/leaner for daily use (read: 3 to 5 cups of coffee a day). I've had better experience with the Keurig than the Tassimo. Besides, it works with gourmet k-cups as well as my own mix-blend of grounds. So far so good.
for one cup of daily coffee im using my Cafetiere. Looks something like this. it has a plunger/strainer you push to the bottom then pour yourself a great cup of coffee.
im currently using a french pyrex cafetiere. Bodium make good ones for £15/20 or you can get them for £6 on ebay.
Coffee im using is Taylors. Really was amazing at the aroma and taste of my first cup of ground coffee, and have not had a cup of instant ever since.
if you want a weaker cup later in the day you can reuse the coffee in there from the last cup
