If you know any patient with Kidney failure who does not have the
financial ability to secure medical care, please spread the following
details:
A prominent Saudi business man, Ma’an Al Sanea, has donated the

abrar bhai,
salam.
my son is in usa and is studying in george mason university. he visits us in his vacations. last time he was here we checked his blood and made sure he did not get it from me. thank god he is clear of that. his blood group is o- and mine is b+. other than than let me know if you want other informations like blood test, etc. let me know so you could find out if his kidney will match.
other than that i dont know my relatives so well because i left them 35 years ago and never been touch other than visit grandparent. but i know i have cousins, i’ll have to find where they are. for the time being i can only see my son as a donor.
thanks
alamgir

abrar bhai,
thats right. the 2 things that is going against our plan.
right now i have medicare that will take care of the 80% of the dialysis and transplant. it did not take care of the hospital and surgeries for catheter. even if i have transplant in usa medicare will take care for 3 years after transplant as long as the transplant is done in usa. only in case i have my transplant outside and when i come back to usa, and later find out transplant is not working then i can go back to dialysis and medicare will take care.
the one you said, that if we were in pakistan then it would have been more practical coming from there.
i am right now thinking of getting the fitsula as soon as i can as i am sure you will say the same thing that permacath is not so effective and not safe for longer time.
the dialysis center where i go to ( davita ) has already applied for medicare for me. it takes about 3 months to get kicked in. as soon as the medicare kicks in i will have the fitsula. this will be covered. because this is after dialysis starts.
the only thing over here is that my waiting time in georgia for transplant is about 3 years. but if me and my family come to the conclusion of my son as a donor and that also depending on matching, then that could take very short time.
i do appreciate your feeling for me and going so much out of your way to give me that attention. we’ll wait and see whats best thing to do. now that i know i can count on you for any emergency.
we’ll keep in touch.

Dear Alam
An O group can in fact donate to a B. So that is not a problem. Some of the other tests to be done we can send you a list of preliminary tests that your son would have to undergo before coming here. At this time, however, I think you and your family would need to sit down and decide what you really want to do:
If you want to do it here in Abu Dhabi, it is actually close to Pakistan, which may or may not be of help to you. But you would certainly have to come here with your son for a short period of time so that we could do some detailed investigations on both you and your son. That may take about one month. During the detailed investigations we may find something that could prevent your son from becoming a donor. If your son tests okay, then we would do the transplant, and you would have to stay here in Abu Dhabi, or close by, for about one month. One of the things you would need to check is whether your medications would be covered when you go back to the US.
I know it is a lot to think about, but planning ahead helps quite a bit. Let me know your thoughts. I am here to help you as best I can J
Salutes to the kind and compassionate souls who are ready and proactive in helping this patriotic Pakistani singer who's an icon and a symbol of Pakistani music and culture.
May Allah bless Alamgir with health and fitness soon, and may our community swell with people with a heart who are always helpful.
Just an up-date that ALAMGIR is overwhelmed on a tremendous response from his friends and well wishers sending him wonderful emails, flowers, gifts and even monetary assistance.
Praise Be Upon ALLAH ALMIGHTY…we have cogent reasons to believe that ALAMGIR will INSHA’ALLAH regain his strength with will power and never ending prayers of his well wishers.
Photo from the file—when ALAMGIR & BEHROZE visited me (my office) at UBL-Abudhabi in 1985;
A permcath shud be taken out as soon as possible as it leads to many infections which a kidney failure patient can't tolerate. If he can get to al-ain, he can get his dialysis done free of cost and it's closer to Pak when and if he finds a donor he can head-out and get his transplant done.
A fistula takes a month to mature and if has one made now, travelling wud be a lot easier and dialysis can be done anywhere. A Daman card will cover all the costs of after-transplant care.
Once again..my sincerest gratitude to the admin. for making this a sticky thread.
I called ALAM a few minutes back on his cell phone--which is on answering machine. I have a left a message to him to revert back via email with his up-date/welfare.
I have also conveyed him the concern of PL/GS and it's administrators and the deluge of members...who are in prayers for his early recovery.
Thank you ALL for the prayers and kind thoughts on my friend, your friend, our friend...ALAMGIR!
thanks for your concern. it means a lot to me. mashallah still going on with the dialysis with my catheter. the catheter does not work every dialysis day. some day it will not work so easily. i have to turn to my right or left a little and as blood starts to run, i have to stay in that position for the rest of the 3 and 1/2 hours. i am going to have the fitsula surgery in january. hope things will be better by the time i will be using the fitsula.
once again thanks for your concern. i’ll keep you posted with my health proceedings.
alamgir
raju,
hope you are finding out about the pledge the governor made for me. this is the time when i really needed that help.

Dear Alamgir,
Hi, hope all is going well with you…just wanted to make sure you are on the right track…
hey alamgir is my friend's relative, and i even took pics with him at her wedding! at that time i didn't even know he was anyone famous. so sad to hear about this. he has thousands of wellwishers here. arjay, please remove his email address otherwise he is going to get a ton of spam. I hope God gives him health; he is a very friendly and sincere personality.
just finished my Kidney Transplant Evaluation Tests in Emory Hospital. Took 2 months for all the tests (about 10 tests.) Now the kidney donor's tests will start in a few days. that will take about 2 months. Then if its a matching kidney then should be getting my transplant in another few months.
remember me in your prayers.
thanks
