hairat hai, Waleed you are asking me these questions. Don't you know me. Bring any post I posted against Punjabi or anyother language. Just talking for my language, doesn't make me biased against other languages.
One may agree or disagree with my point of view, but straight away asking such questions ' masla hai?' surprised me.

Im not saying you are wrong For me Sindhi Balochi Punjabis and Pakhtoonis are same cz we all are Pakistanis!

I gave you link because it contain the relevant discussion. tell me did you go through this very thread and what have been said before commenting? I've given the reasons, why people prefer to have their Id cards in Sindhi and why government is not abolishing cards in Sindhi.
Anyways, this discussion will really not going to lead us anywhere. so I better be out of this thread.

I have said million times in this thread kay we are all for teaching any regional language in schools and at literary level, but the national assets such as ID cards etc must be in Urdu.
Yay Muqawee sahab har baat ko tror maror kar paish kar rahey haiN and trying to repeat the same that we are trying to kill Sindhi by advocating ID cards in Urdu.
And if a Punjabi suggests this, he is in inferiority complex according to him.
Faida koi nahi. After post #1643 he will still be repeating the same.

Of course regional langues should be teached but in 8 9 10 Punjabi language is being teached !

What is the use of learning local languages, when you can't have an identity card pronouncing your name and address properly? Urdu is not capable of doing justice to Sindhi names that we discussed above. Overall, Sindhis have Id cards in Sindhi for last 65 years and neither they nor others felt any problem in dealing with such cards. so why all of sudden this has become matter of life and death to some people?

National Identity Card should be in national language.
Teaching local language in schools is one thing, using it on national ID card is plain wrong.

First lets correct FACT..
Punjabi, Sindhi , Pashto , Balochi ,...or for that matter ... Bengali ...are/were not LOCAL languages ... Period.
Each has a history of around 4000-5000 years behind it... Declaring them local languages is like denying them their true place in History ...

After all, otherwise what is the use of learning these local languages if one can not have ID card in those? And some surnames can not be properly pronounced in Urdu?

There’s a very small percentage of people here in Ireland who actually speak Gaelic as their first language even though it is the national language. So most of our official documents are in both English and Irish. If you look at the Irish passport, for example, you can see that all the headings are in both English and Irish.
So why can’t we have both Urdu and Sindhi or Urdu and Punjabi on our ID cards?

Really? So what other language would you recommend to be the official national language of Pakistan? There's like a million languages spoken in India but Hindi remains the first official language. Why would anyone by offended by this?
