Muslim Sindhis made only one difference, known as Pakistan. They voted for Pakistan, though, Sindhi Hindus were neither in favor of Pakistan nor separation from Bombay Residency. With Sindh annexed to Bombay, Sindhi Hindus were not minority on religious basis. Sindhi Muslims, however, took the issue of separation from Bombay seriously and then they voted Muslim League in 1946 election. Sindhi Hindus voted for Congress and therefore Congress won all the seats reserved for minorities in Sindh.

I am talking about the economic or scientific / academic impact on sindh. In that sense, muslim sindhis were far behind hindus just like how I have seen some indian muslims blame the mouhajirs (upper or middle class intellectuals) that left for Pakistan and left the dumb ones, to be politically incorrect, behind in india.

Sindh could have been much different if there was less rigidness in the sindhi identity like punjabis and they had made a collation (as AP uncle says) to get themselves educated. But I guess that it might not be possible since that would mean the end of wadera in sindh. Right now, it seems that someone would have to come save interior sindh as the sindhi middle class has no initiative to take on the waderas like punjabis did with the industrialization of north and central punjab.
