I simply don't trust army/rangers operating as law-enforcement in a city, they are not trained for it, they should not be attempting to act like one. We have seen "Jinnahpur" in past, we have seen MQM being helped to rise to a monster, then we saw MQM-H taking reign in certain parts of city with help of rangers. Army/rangers have been working as power brokers/players/makers for long time in Karachi. It simply is NOT their job to be in the city. If army is really interested in fixing things then it should take proper routes.
Has situation in Karachi in last 12-6 months improved or not? Simple yes or no.

Trained for what? It's a paramilitary force trained to launch sophisticated targeted operations and this is exactly what they have been doing Karachi. You have absolutely no answer for why Provisional and Federal government do not want to Reform police, weed out political and economic terrorism but just want to discredit Rangers/Army because it suits your wider agenda. Just like Zardari, don't you dare go after my mega criminals, or I'll defame and disgrace you.

Actually we need a national dialog
A new social political regional and also cultural contract
These killing and conspiracies should be ended now
Limits should be decided and there should be no holy cow
We have big issue of black money and I see no one among known 100 % clear except Ch Nisar , but Ch nisar also not a good leader .
IK can not make any good example , very poor show in KPK
I am saying since long that era of Shareefs IK Altaf & AAZ is not required any more
All of above having big money and also many Generals other politicians bureaucrats and frauds like Malik Riaz
There should be some good way to bring that money in circle back
The present political leadership will be conveniently replaced by their children. This is true of most parties (read* family limited companies*).
So how is that going to change anything!
Democracy is for educated societies only, not for cheap, illiterate, retarded masses (read emotional fools) that sadly decide the fate of elections in desi societies.

Let the people decide their way
let the democracy go forward
You just see it is all drama
No work on election reforms by any one

What would be those "proper routes"?
Situation improved with struggle of PPP government
They hired Rangers for this ans Sindh and Karachi apnay awam kay knoon paseenay ki kamai say is ki payment kartay hain
Us say Alag say jo poora Pakistan apnay bachon ko bhooka sula kar in ka pet bharta hay

If police was empowered, the result would've been same or better.
Trained for what? It's a paramilitary force trained to launch sophisticated targeted operations and this is exactly what they have been doing Karachi.
They are trained to fight on borders, not to do criminal investigations.
You have absolutely no answer for why Provisional and Federal government do not want to Reform police
Because they are criminals themselves, that is why they don't want it. Using army/rangers when they are in power is an advantage to ruling party. Looks like it is you who have absolutely no idea which govt institution should do what.
What would be those "proper routes"?
National Security Council, or as currently it is, Cabinet Committee on National Security.
This army general looks really serious about cleaning up Pakistan. Too bad he only has 3 years in office. I hope MQM, PPP, ANP and others get what they deserve and hopefully next is Punjab even though it is not as bad as Sindh but it is crazy up there also.

What better is that democracy which cannot provide simple needs of poor people. What good is that constitution which can not be implemented.
Pakistan needs a hardcore leader who does not compromise and send all present politicians to Guantanamo Bay like prison or hang them in public. Zardari and Nawaz alone have enough money to feed and full fill need of poor Pakistanis but I guess they are too busy defending so called democracy and constitution. Democracy is perhaps for civilized and educated people and not corrupts.
Btw, wut happened to that 900 Acre land for forests that Sindh govt presented to Pak Army? did Army return it with thanks or have started planning to create new resorts aka mess?
Who cares if the environment goes south and it turns to 50 degree celsius next year :hinna:
Again same old rhetoric. Who exactly is going to empower police? Farishteys descending from sky or yahoodies coming from outside? Every 8 year old in Pakistan knows that police needs to empowered and politicsed…hardly a brainer, but the point is, who is going to do it, when and how? Clearly this is not Army’s job to fix police, or is it?
More used and abused rhetoric and clear lack of knowledge. Rangers are paramilitary force* trained *to do sophisticated intelligence based targeted operations within borders. This is exactly what they had been doing. Do not underestimate the level of civil-military intelligence expertise they have. The ex DG Rangers is the current DG ISI! So clearly their training cannot be underestimated.
I have clear idea what government institutions should do, but I am not stupid or naive enough to pull a PPP style rhetoric that don’t you dare go after us you Rangers, or we’ll start discrediting and defaming you. Fact of the matter is, operation in Karachi has significantly reduced daily violence, and every criminal outfit is feeling the heat. This is fact. Yes, call it a patch work or what not, but it has provided quick speedy relief to people which is much better than wasting time talking about wishy wasy technicalities and rhetoric.
Oh yes, I forgot committees. Yes, committees. Answer to Pakistan’s every woe. :halo: Committee…we simply cannot have enough of them. Such a wonderful thing they are. And tell who will lead those committees? LOL…Drop the name of those people who you think will punish their allies and empower police. LOL
Asif Zardari is reported to have escaped to Dubai and would probably leave for US onwards. He escaped on advice from his party advisors citing possible upcoming arrest. Even Dubai may not be safe for him so he's advised to go to US. Bad days for MQM and PPP, let's see who's next or is it only topi drama as usual.
You gotta hand it to the military though. I think this is the first time, they've done such a large scale clean out of corruption. To now start targeting the actual people in power who are backing these criminals, INCREDIBLE. Because these people who are in power in Sindh, they have so many killers hired, no one can go after them and punish them easily.
Hats off to Raheel Sharif, I have a feeling he is big on this.
and same old rhetoric from your side “aasman se farishtay aayen gai”, we have seen army trying to “fix” local issues for 50-60 years already, are those fixed? NO. Army “fixed” MQM in 1990s, is it fixed? NO. Army fixed so many other problems of the country, are those “fixed”? NO. Reason being army needs to stick to the border fixing.
Sophisticated intelligence on cross-border problems, not politicians, crimes (white-collar or blue collar). I am not underestimating the civil-military-so-called-intelligence-expertise, we have seen rise of MQM, rise of MQM-H, target killings, kidnappings, loots. My very family experience of how closely rangers are in cahoot with looters, I can’t explain here.
great, then lets use that instead of emotionalism.
okay, then lets have another shot at martial-law to see if they can fix Pakistan… yet one more time :halo:
