Is this a good precedence? How will this play out in the context of Sindh;s politics?

I am sure that release of People Amn Committee members and the APC on terrorism have political connotation. Election time is coming and the votes from Lyari are important for PPP.

****KARACHI: **The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (**MQM) **walked out of the Sindh Assembly’s in camera briefing on the Karachi situation to protest the disposal of cases against the People’s Aman Committee, *****Express News *****reported Thursday.

**MQM boycotted the session in response to a letter by Sindh Law Minister Ayaz Soomro, which ordered the Prosecutor General of Sindh to dispose of all cases against the Lyari People’s Aman Committee.

After a short meeting with fellow party members, senior MQM leader Dr Sagheer Ahmed said at a press conference, “We condemn the support to such people who have been a part of Lyari gang war.” He further added, “Today PPP showed that they support these terrorist.”

Ahmed said that if President Asif Ali Zardari doesn’t take notice on the issue, “we will boycott”.

According to a source, Ayaz Soomro was called in by President Asif Ali Zardari to the President House. Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan was also present at Bilawal House, where they discussed issues regarding the letter, Soomro said.

During the Sindh Assembly session on the Karachi situation, Sindh IG Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari briefed MPAs on the Taliban’s involvement in Karachi bomb attacks and the killing of MPA Manzar Imaam, when PPP’s Sindh Transport Minister Akhtar Hussain Jadoon started alleging that the Sindh Police was involved in corruption.

Jadoon said that police appointments are based on political associations. He further alleged that the police were taking bribes and collecting extortion money. However, after no satisfactory reply from IG Sindh, Jadoon too walked out of the session, according to a source.

However, Soomro said that the briefing was satisfactory.

Sharjeel Memon was on a talk show last night claiming that no such decision will be made without taking MQM into confidence. We all know what that means.

They can make a unanimous caretaker provincial government .

They will be in opposition
So they will enjoy Unanimous care taker provincial government
They can not live out from power for a day .

so.... the house leader and opposition leader have to talk and form caretaker governments. Now, MQM and PPP will collaborate now and make a provincial caretaker government suiting their own agendas? Another master stroke by the president.

It is not just about MQM. It is about suppression of a minority by a majority. It is about ethnicity and prejudice. Urdu speaking people are unfortunately dominated by a highly prejudiced Sindhi politicians.
And MQM's leaving the government is no drama.

Sometimes I lament their fate.

Is this not a drama that governor leaves for Dubai and gives a chance to the PPP to get signed the repealing of the local government act .
After four years and eleven months one leaving the government .
Both parties are trying to raise ethnic hype and people like you will come again to vote for ethnicity .

I don't think ishrat could have stopped the repelling of local government act.
And secondly, I was listening to najam sethi yesterday. He is no fan of MQM. And he also said that what is happening is not just a drama. There actually are serious differences between MQM and PPP over PPP's decision to repel the local bodies act so as to win back its voters from the extremists like mumtaz Bhutto and Ayaz Paleejo.

just like you, I was also thinking that it was all mere drama. But I changed my mind after hearing confirmation from Sethi.

If getting votes is the representation then you are right, but after getting votes, they don't serve the voters then they are representatives of their wishes. Do hell with the public, who vote for these idiots
