This is not a good decision. Now there will be no justice for the 60 or more people that were killed in the riots after BB’s death.
With PPP govt. once again setting out its stalls. Looks like worrying times ahead for the innocent people of Karachi as in the 90’s. Karachi walon, please stay safe. May god bless you all.
KARACHI: The Sindh Cabinet on Sunday decided to withdraw all terrorism cases registered against citizens following riots that erupted after the assassination of former premier Benazir Bhutto on December 27, 2007.
Sindh Information Minister Shazia Marri told reporters after the cabinet’s first meeting that the focus of the meeting was to receive suggestions and proposals from members.
It is sad to know that cases are being withdrawn, but hearing it from someone like Aalsi is kinda ridiculous, someone who backed NRO, dude you are such hypocrite.
Majority of the people here on GS blamed MQM for December 27 events. Now they must be happy that those "false cases" against innocent PPP workers have been withdrawn.
That's so disgusting. After destruction & looting by PPP goons....Their government takes off all the cases against them to protect them...Pathetic!
Yes I agree. Some of the most heinous atrocities in recent times were carried out in the post Dec 27 riots. This included scores of workers being burned alive, when rioters attacked industrail units. Also, an Edhi home for handicapped kids was attacked, and other horrible attacks carried out by vengeful PPP thugs and criminals. It is unbelievable that the govt has dropped the cases against these murderers, looters and common criminals.
When the president calls the butchering of innocent people on 12 may as his show of strength and was cheered on by his supporters it is bit much to see the crocodile tears now. Both are wrong. Condemn both injustices.

Punjabi's were targeted as well in the post Dec 27 campaign of looting, burning and murder by PPP supporters, especially in Interior Sindh. My family had travelled down from Punjab just before BB's killing, and then were trapped in Sindh for more than a week because these criminals had burned all the trains going to Punjab.

Why you have to bring "Urdu Speakers" in to this discussions? Other communities suffered more in the hands of MQM killers. Are they not humans? Please avoid ethinic bias in every thread.:(
