Well Karachi happens to be in Sind by default and it’s not just Sindis but people of all ethnic communities in Karachi that are generating most of that revenue

Well atleast by his usu. hyper levels, he appears a little sane and sober here. But it's nothing new. In many countries, one part contributes the most. In Saudi Arabia, all the oil comes from the Eastern province, and the Asir province contributes little, yet it is one country. And in the US the state of California generates the most revenue. I agree with him though on the water issue of Sind, provincial autonomy etc.

But in US, the US govt doesn't "harrap" all the money that comes from ports in LA or Seattle etc. Recently, no one on this forum "noticed" it with all the bs they spew, the city of karachi had to end up cleaning the defence housing authority areas after the recent flooding when DHA, not city of karachi, collects the "tax" from this community. Federal govt is unnecessarily entrenched too much in karachi.

The reason for revenue generated by Karachi is its being the only port. But some people beleive that they brought the Karachi sealine with them from India and hence they deserve everything and rest of thePakistan shud just suck, they don't care.

Bangladesh is all port...Does all of Bangladesh provide as much revenue as Karahi alone?
It's not what you have it's how it's used that makes the difference...It takes planning by those who can plan to implement something...It just doesn;t come out of having some resource...
Besides, the port provides only a minimal amount of revenue...It's the people and their investment that makes a place what it is...If it weren't so, I doubt people would be flocking to Karachi from all corners of Pakistan to seek their subsistence...
People from the NWFP, Balochistan and Punjab don't come to Karachi to look at the seaside...They come in search of living...Why Karachi? Ever thought about it?

Btw, no one replied to my "dry port" comment so let me emphasize, dry ports take over many duties that were done in karachi pre-eighties, hence Punjab gets the revenue NOT karachi.
