Hey guys, my walima (which may or may not happen) is going to be very small and simple. Completely according to sunnah, and most likely in a Masjid hall with food. I still want to look like a bride though, but not wear something bridal.
If you don't want to wear something with kaam, then my suggestion would be to go for a bright colour to make yourself stand out, like magenta, orange, dark pink or simply wear red if you didn't wear it on your wedding day.
Thank you Theway for the pictures. The second one looks nice and not so bridal. I should maybe look at some "engagement" treads eh
I was thinking something in soft colours since I am wearing red on wedding. Instead of wearing a lehnga, i could wear a pretty maxi dress. what do you guys think :D
If you like flowy, but not too much kaam, You can do a flowy dress with banarsi or jamawar phasing at the bottom and a little bit kaam on the body or neck.
I think the idea of wearing a maxi would be very luvely!! It is now just a matter of choosing the right one I have a WONDERFUL designer who is making my baraat and walima clothes… she doesn’t replicate outfits but uses them as guidelines of what you like or dislike. You can send her a bunch of pictures and tell her I like the flow of this one, but the kaam of this one, the dupatta on this one, this color of this, etc. And you will end up having the perfect customized dress! She is EXTREMELY nice and wonderful in regards to keeping in touch with you. I can always reach her via cell (even tho i live in the US and she is in pakistan), email, and facebook easily. SHe is so kind that it makes the whole process sooooo easy and stress free. Another guppan on here actually referred me to her. GS is amazing…
Let me know if you want her contact info. Send me a PM and I will give it to you
p.s. I had the third maxi made for my brunch following the wedding day. Only change is adding sleeves. I <3 it. Since I wanted an exact replica i used an online designer and was amazed the amazing price she quoted me and the product I got!!

What is her facebook link?
I'm at work so I can not post pictures of the maxi - but there are many pictures of it on her facebook page! She made an album called "Fai's Wedding Anarkali final product".
She charged me $300 - but i think price was reduced because I did not ask for a dupatta.
You can find her page - she has two of them: both called ---> De Flair
Her name is Saiqa :) Tell her the girl who had the pink maxi made (she calls it anarkali tho. It touches the ground so to me it is Maxi) gave you her info. She will be very receptive to your inquiry!!
Yeah let me know as well.
I love that pink one as well, is it heavy??
It is very heavy!!! She did a great job. Refer to above to see pics ^
