Simple and easy to cook Shami Kababs

One cup of gram (channa) (250 grams) daal soaked for two hours

1 Kg beef - very small pieces

Masalas : lal mirch(1 tablespoon), zeera powder (1 tablespoon), gram masala powder(half tablespoon), salt (one tablespoon) bari illachi and garlic cloves (to be cooked with meat and daal)

Onions, mint, bullet green chillies and ginger to be chopped and then added to the mix (to be added after cooking)l

One quick question .. you mash the mixture with the rolling pin , why do you not use a mixer? isnt that easier?

Thanks. One reason - I do not have a mixer!

2nd - my mother used to do it on "sill batta" and being traditionalist I use this roti rolling pin as I do not have sill and batta.

One question Mostar, why didn't you use whole eggs instead? Does that make any difference or is it just a personal preference?

I usually add onions green chillies in the meet whilst its being cooked, and some after its cooked. Will be trying your recipe soon inshaAllah

Egg whites takes in air and inflate and its easy to make kabab from them and then it is less in cholesterol as well. Anyway my mother used mix a whole egg in the mashed stuff instead of layering it while frying.
