Simon Jones is out of the Test and one-day series against Sri Lanka after injuring his left knee against Ireland on Monday when playing for Glamorgan. Jones has been told to rest for six weeks after an MRI scan revealed he had sustained a new injury to his knee, in the shape of cartilage damage. He could yet require surgery.
Jones adds to the list of injury woes for England, with Michael Vaughan, Ashley Giles and Steve Harmison already out of the first Test which starts at Lord’s on Thursday 11 May. The news is yet another setback for Jones, who had just recovered from ankle and knee problems which forced him out of the winter tours of India and Pakistan and his early season preparations had been going well.
Chaloo jeee, Simon Jones kee phir say chuthee hoi. Lets see if he is going to be fit for the series against Pakistan. If yes, it well be interesting to see how well he is going to perform after a long break from Test cricket.
Simon Jones locked up behind bars, recovering from his multiple list of past and previous injuries, while injuring himself in the process to take the ‘time off’ in the future.
Every time this guy has been in the news, it's because he's injured. First all the hype, then the injury announcement, happens every tour. Maybe he should stick to modeling. :p
I wonder really when can we see him back in Eng team? Is it going to be against Pak or against Aus? This guy has missed all series after the Ashes. I think he's a great bowler but too much "prone" to injury. I guess he gotta take more care of himself.
