Simon has ‘fired’ Louis Walsh as a judge and given presenter Kate Thornton the sack too! In true snake-like style, Simon arranged for an ITV producer to break the news to the two X Factor unfortunates instead of telling them himself. Louis, who still has many business links with Simon, wasn’t really bothered by the news, but Kate reportedly burst into tears when she heard that she would not be around for the next series of the show.
A source told The Sun newspaper, “Kate was in tears when she got her marching orders. She loved doing the show and felt she did a good job. But Louis is now fairly philosophical as it was never his be-all-and-end-all. He hardly made any money out of being a judge, he did it for a laugh.” Speaking out yesterday, Kate said: “Presenting The X Factor has been fantastic. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in to some new programmes with ITV.”
