Similarities Between Turkish and Urdu

Interesting way of comparing the two lingos.

I think Urdu, Persian and Turkish languages can easily make a venn diagram with a very large shaded area.

Probably because of Alexander the great’s army coming across all these countries. And then the turkish Caliphate.

My father used to tell me that back in the day we used to get this urdu newspaper called Hurriyat whose editor was Fakhr Matri, a turkish origin fella. So there was always a turkish influence in our language and culture.

Btw, that Pakistani chick in vid was way cuter than turkish :mmm:

pakistani lady is like literally the most beautiful woman i have seen in my life

**Interesting vid...

I m learning Turkish online aajkal...

I have some Turkish friends, and when they speak I understand some of the words quite well...

I think its because they have many words from Arabic and Persian as well...

I have seen Afghans, Uzbeks and ppl from Turkmenistan understanding Turkish...
And when I asked some of them, they told me that their language is close to Turkish language...

Urdu is on other hand, a mixture of Arabic, Persian and Sansikrit or Hindi...
So similarities between Turkish and Urdu are not that much...**

It is because in the broader sense the Turkic people originated from southern Siberia!

I'm one of the biggest fan of learning more and more languages, atleast the basics of it.

And life is all about learning.

So if you want we can start new threads for any selected language and start learning it together. Like say for example if we start turkish language thread, @pktun can teach us few words that he knows, we can share other stuff from youtube etc.

Let me know if it sounds good

Here we have a simple greeting translated into Turkish

English: How are you Turkish = Nasılsın

English: **I am Good ** Turkish = iyiyim
