Re: silver wedding anniversary

WELL. we had a like party type thing.. it just so happened that a sum of our relatives from pakistan were visiting and so we invited them and our closest cousins in north america came and it was cool.. we got them a really big ice cream cake.. and everyone got presents. but yeah it was alotta fun. not too too special.. well in a way i guess it was for us. but nothing really creative

Re: silver wedding anniversary

We did what we do every year except taht we got more grand-er presents than usual. Invited mamoo and phopo over, had a nice dinner followed by a huge cake that was cut. My parents did something different actually. They bought us, the kids, presents as well. The excitement was much more in the days before it since we were hiding the presents from the parents and they were hiding presents from us.

Re: silver wedding anniversary

hmmm i think we might end up doing the typical party thing too :bummer:

I wanted to do something special, like a chartered boat or something or a mini cruiz.

Re: silver wedding anniversary

it’s too special a day to share with outsiders .. so it was just us siblings and mom and dad (duh)… chartered a boat and roamed around the red sea for i think 4 hours… us siblings stayed downstairs and mom and dad were upstairs

then took em out for dinner and the gift was a portrait of mom and dad from their wedding day.. we had given the artist a wedding day photo and he painted it in large scale.. its pretty huge…

mom cried so much

dad was a bit shocked at how much he had aged.. he just sat there going “suno.. dekho.. kitna pathla tha mein… kia jawani thi meri.. and look at your pretty jewellery” .. we were worried he would break out in some old song bout undying love for his beloved, so we let the 2 love birds be :bobo:

it was a good day.

Re: silver wedding anniversary

This thread made me realise, next year InshaAllah my parents will have their 30th Anniversary,…

We don’t do anything…talk to ammi sometimes but abbu isn’t really in all this birthdays/anniversaries n stuff.

Khawateen…i nearly fell off my chair reading your post…:hehe:

Re: silver wedding anniversary

on my parents 25th wedding anniversary, my siblings and I surprised them with a limo ride to their favourite restaurant (plus our own gifts of course). they had no idea and they loved it!

Re: silver wedding anniversary

hmmm that sounds really good too...i want more ideas :D

Khawa I thought it might be nice to have just like the really close friends of theirs come over.

Re: silver wedding anniversary

Try to do what they will like. My parents are perfectly happy with spending time with us, the kids only and thats why we always have small "parties" at home. We dont even invite the family but they can show up if they like.

Re: silver wedding anniversary

aww... we didnt do antyhing. they were travelling and returned with a major argument for us to worry about.

Re: silver wedding anniversary

^ i bet my parents argue more than anyone out there but then they make up fast too.

Ira my dads kinda like kick back and relax kinda guy but my mom likes parties and stuff and especially if its a surprise for her from my dad, that would be really nice!

Re: silver wedding anniversary

Like any other year since we don't have relatives here. Just spent with our own family.

Re: silver wedding anniversary

Good. They sound like a natural, normal couple :D

Re: silver wedding anniversary

^ lol isn’t it annoying though :o I will make sure me n my fiance dont turn out like that

I wanted to do something different this year though :bummer:

Re: silver wedding anniversary

Barfee let us know how it goes. Maybe we can get ideas for our parents' next anniversary :D

Re: silver wedding anniversary

My aunts and uncles, along with my parents' close friends, hosted a party for them, and we helped out. It was a surprise.

I got to wear a sari :Pretty:.
