I heard these days pakistani jewellers would make whatever design you want in silver and they would gold plate it…heard no one can tell if its not even gold…
my sister is thinking of getting like the wedding sets done in chandi and gold plated…since you can get them colour co-ordinated with your dress and she is getting the gold stuff in smallers sets…but a couple of those…so she would end up with a variety of gold sets to wear…and wont be stuck with one big set in a particular colour…wat do you guys think about that?
i was wondering if anyone got anything like that made from karachi maybe? how did it turn out? and who do you guys consider to be better jewellers in karachi for this kind of stuff…
Re: Silver jewellery gold plated
this is new to me.... i didn't know tht they did some thing like tht :$

Re: Silver jewellery gold plated
yah i saw some sets in liberty last year....they looked so pretty.....you cant really tell the difference......unless if you were a jeweller.

Re: Silver jewellery gold plated
owhh tht's wht she meant oopsss
Re: Silver jewellery gold plated
my teeka and jhoomar are like that with kundan and green emeralds. they use real stones and real silver and then gold plate it. you absolutely cannot tell unless you look really closely. and some of the sets are just as much $ as a real gold set. most of them though are less. i didn't want mom spending a lot on teeka and jhoomar cos i likely won't wear them again. mom's gulubund and chooriyan and chandan haar are all real anyway, and thats enough for me! :) my dad's fussy about these things though- he doesn't like fake, but i think when he realised how much the whole wedding is gonna cost him, he also realised it didn't make sense to spend on something i wouldn't use again.
for my mehendi, i'm making my own jewellery using gold plated silver and real turqoise and swarovski's. but thats mainly cos i haven't been able to find a nice ready-made set that i want to wear.
Re: Silver jewellery gold plated
^this is wht i found and have to say it looks nice

wow! your jewellery idea sounds great!!:biggthumb do post some pics when u get them
Re: Silver jewellery gold plated
definitely! :)
Re: Silver jewellery gold plated
My sister wanted to do that but of course mum and dad were against it. I think its definitely a great idea to have the jhoomar and teeka gold plated instead of gold. A lot of the double sets(identical choker and necklace) that were in a couple of years ago were mostly only gold plated, besides to have to authentic yet identical jewelry sets is stupidity anyway.
Re: Silver jewellery gold plated
^ Hm I had a double set.. at first I didnt really like it, but its kinda nice, I can only wear one piece at time for any particular event.. My jhummar and pajangla (which matched the entire set) were artificial..
